Don King 7/19/22-11/22/09                                                        

     Don King was born July 19, 1922 at Reliance to Joseph and Emily (LaBreche) King. Don grew up and graduated from Reliance High School in 1940.
    He enlisted in the US Army and served his county proudly from 1940 to 1945 in WWII. He was stationed in Italy and North Africa.
    November 1, 1947, he married Mildred (Mid) Husman in Reliance.
    Don worked with the state highway department for five years before moving to Mitchell where he worked for the city. He worked for various construction companies and was employed by the Davison County Highway Departmentuntil his retirement in 1989
    He is survived by two daughters: Rose (Corrie) Reinhart of Boone, N.C. and Rhonda King of Mitchell.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mildred, and his sister, Joanne Fletcher.
