Peter Allard died of natural causes in Tucson, Arizona on March 27, 2014. He was born in Reno, Nevada on July 9th, 1948 to Thomas F. and Catherine Jo'Ann Allard, both of whom pre-deceased him. Peter attended Reno schools, graduating from Reno High School, class of 1966. He also attended the University of Nevada and Lassen College in Susanville.
Peter is survived by his sisters, Michele Currie and Suzanne Christian of Reno, Jackie Allard of Gardnerville; his son Noah Allard of Texas; several nieces and nephews and two granddaughters. He is also survived by his step-mother, Ellen Jeanne Allard of Salem, Oregon.
We remember with smiles the good times with Peter: summer weeks at Twin Lakes, California; cutting Christmas trees in the Pine Nut Range and wild times at the old Little League ball park at Wells Avenue and Oddie Blvd.; and especially the birthday and holiday celebrations at the home of his beloved grandparents, J. George and Minnie Allard.
We remember with love the man who stopped to watch birds and who delighted in the sights of marine life off a California beach. Peter had a wickedly mordant view of the mindless capering of some politicians, especially during an election year.
In memory of Peter, go outside, set up your favorite rump-sprung lawn chair and contemplate a beautiful sunset.
