Shirley Jean Baldwin January 8, 1948 - January 2, 2005
Shirley Jean Baldwin, 56, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 2, 2005, after a long, brave battle against cancer. Shirley was born in Stockton, CA, January 8, 1948 to Floyd "Lucky" Baldwin and Wanda Jewel (Gyles) Brown, who preceded her in death in 2002. Shirley attended Northside and Central School, and then went on to Monterey Bay Academy and Reno High School. She moved to Manteca, CA where she had many friends and family before returning to Reno to operate her business as a manager and owner in the motel business. Shirley is survived by her daughter, Regina Jewel Ruegsegger of Reno; two brothers, Jimmy Baldwin of Manteca, CA, and Ron Brown of Reno; 3 grandchildren, Kyle and Tiara Smith of Tracy, CA, and Shelby Jean of Reno; and several cousins, aunts and uncles. Shirley loved God and trusted in Jesus as her savior and Lord - never complaining of her cancer. She accepted her fate and waited for Jesus to take her home. She loved music, especially Elvis. She loved to dance, laugh, watch movies, using her computer and being with her family and friends. Shirley had beautiful piercing blue eyes and the world's best smile, a wonderful sense of humor, and a personality rivaled by no other.
