Madelon Manning Gore, 56, of Reno, passed away on April 3, 2005, at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center. A native of Oregon City, Oregon, she was born August 14, 1948 to Kenneth and Diora (Henderson) Morton, and had been a local resident since 1960, when her family moved to this area.
Madelon was a warm-hearted individual who placed the welfare of others above that of herself. She was talented in many ways, exhibiting her skills in a variety of arts and crafts. A renowned cook, Madelon loved to spend time with her family. Her granddaughters held a special place in her heart.
Madelon was preceded in death by her mother Diora; brothers Wesley and Bruce Morton; and sister Gwendolyn Morton. She is survived by her father, Kenneth Morton; sons, Jeff Gore (Mary) and Mark Gore; daughter Deena Gore; sisters, Virginia Bertrand (Bud) and Karen Drynan; granddaughters Emily Gore and Bailey Gore, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 8, 2005 at 2:00 PM at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, 1138 Wright Street, Reno. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to an education fund being established for Deena Gore. The Walton Funeral Home, Reno, is handling arrangements for Madelon.
