Abdul was born Michael Garner Norris in San Francisco, to parents, Madeline Joseph and Franklin Norris. He was raised there, and then came to Reno and went to Reno High School.
He was a decent and generous man, who gave everyone the time of day. He knew the night sky and the constellations. He bought wonderful and thoughtful cards for people.
He drove ships in the military which he loved doing. He also worked at the Post Office and Sierra Glass during his life.
He is survived by his two brothers; Timothy and Patrick and sister Silvia and their families. He has a beloved son Rashid, stepdaughter Joy, grandson Jayden and wife Esther Arlene.
Abdul peacefully entered the arms of the Lord, his beloved mother and grandmother, May 15, 2015 at the age of 68. We will all remember so many good times with you, until we are together again. "I Said."
A service will be held August 17, 2015, at 10:00 am at the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Fernley, Nevada.
