Harry A. “Butch” Rice III died on June 30, 1995. He was the beloved father of Lisa (Jimmy) Silva of Sparks, grandfather of Brooke and AJ Silva, son of Harry and Jewell Rice of Reno. Butch was married for 25 years to Lynn LaTourrette Rice. Butch is also survived by numerous cousins.
Butch was born in Princeton, W. VA on January 26, 1948, and moved to Reno that same year. He graduated from Traner Junior High, then Reno High School in 1966. After a brief period of service in the U.S. Navy, he worked for many years as a Food and Beverage Manager for Harrah’s, then owned and operated a 7-Eleven store in Sparks.
Butch was a gregarious man who was loved by all who knew him. He loved to laugh and have fun and will be missed by his many friends, and most especially by his family.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, July 6 at 11:00 am at O’Brien, Rogers, and Crosby Funeral Home at 600 W. 2nd St.
