Robert A. Simpson, 60, of Reno, passed away September 12, 2008 in his home surrounded by his family after a four month battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born January 26, 1948 in Oakland, CA to Richard Dale and Gladys Simpson. His family moved to Reno in 1956 and he grew up in Reno attending local schools. He graduated from Reno High School in 1966 and the University of Nevada in 1974 with BA in Marketing. After joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, he served a two year mission in the Western Canadian Mission from 1967 to 1969. He enjoyed serving in many capacities in his church throughout his life, including bishop. The owner of Victorian Realty, Bob had worked in the real estate business in Reno for over 31yrs. He was a wonderfully kind man and a devoted husband and father. He loved to ski, hike and camp with his family. He loved all sports and especially enjoyed basketball in his youth.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Alysia Beauchamp. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Debbie; six sons, Robert, Jonathan (Hilary), Thomas (Shannan), Daniel (Katie), Timothy (Risha), and Matthew; sister, Marilyn (Les) Cook and five grandchildren all of Reno. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 18 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1095 Golconda Dr., Reno, NV.
