Things are getting really quiet on the board. Guess everyone is busy with their summertime. Not much happening here - tied up with business meetings all week long and then headed to Tulsa for the weekend. Stay safe and ttyl - Y

It's Thursday now. Stephanie,Jesse and I are going floating again this Saturday. We are going from Hootentown down. It's a nice easy float and you get to see the natural arch from the water. If you have never seen it, then you should. We have 3 canoes not being used at the time. Anyone interested in going? It will be too nice to stay in. Come on, float, relax and let's get to know each other again. You never know, we might become friends. If you want to go, email me and I will hold one for you. We will leave Republic at 9 am Saturday. It's only a 6 mile float so it wont be an all day thing unless you want it to be. Fish if you want, or just kick back like I do and enjoy the beauty that we have been given. ANY TAKERS??????

Any July 4th plans?

Not much going on my way except ballgames. Maybe we'll try to get to the lake this weekend. Look for a green and white Nitro or a purple and white Seadoo, as I'd be on one of those!

Same thing I always do on the 4th, TRY TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD!!!!!!!! Not really, camping from Wednesday til Sunday. Floating in between there. Anyone not have plans? Your welcome to join us. Rough camping tho, no running water, no lectric and no potties. Come on down we would love to have you.

Gary,

You are painting such a beautifully tempting picture of floating down the Ozark streams. If I didn't live so far away, and if I hadn't been busy the past few weekends, I would totally be on the water with you.

Keep offering and when the stars are in alignment, I'm all in! :)

Three cheers to Gary for being the best sport/greatest forum poster ever! Hip-Hip-Hurray! Hip-Hip-Hurray! HIP-HIP-HURRAY!

If you are ever in the area you just let me know. I will make it a point to take you and your family. We love to have people go anytime. Just give us warning your coming and all you have to do is show up.

Hey Gary what time are we going to head out and where are we gonna meet on float trip after reunion? Shelia and I are looking forward to it. Don't forget to save my canoe.

Gary Fortney

well I figured we would meet at 9. Give time for everyone to wake up. We could all meet at DQ. That way if there are no show-ers I can take the empty canoes back to my house. If I don't they will get stolen. So.... If you say your going then change your minds, let me know. I kinda like what little stuff I have. So to answer you question 9 am at DQ on Sunday August 9th

Good Morning all. since this site has opened I have been asked about 4 times to open a Facebook. Why? There are 51 people registered on this site and only 4 that ever post. Why would I open a Facebook when no one can even spend five minutes on here? So you can know what I'm having for breakfast or when I'm about to use the bathroom? We are all adults here folks, I think. Layne went to a lot of trouble and pocket money to set this up for us. Facebook is for letting people know that your going to the store or " Gosh it's hot!", this is a little more personal and should be fun and able to catch up with people and their lives, so we don't have the same thing we've been having. Splitting off into the imaginary CLICKS and not even know what that other person has done in their lives. Come on folks. It won't very long some of us are not going to be here anymore. Live a little, make new friends. People change, times change, things change. Oh and also, I have to go to the bathroom.

The lake water is already too warm. This normally doesn't happen until mid July, so I think that the heat last week really warmed the water. Oh well, we still had fun on the sea-doo and hanging with friends. Gary, how was floating?

which time? Yesterday we went to the Niangua to take a group of special needs kids. Had a blast and they just love it.

Downloaded some pics of the Float for Independence last Sunday. It was a lot of fun and plan on doing it every year.

Gary hope you float went well, with the 4th weekend coming up I am sure you have a big one planned. I rarely get down there much anymore, but sometime I may have to take you up on a float trip, heck Howell lives up here in the KC area as well, might be able to get him to go as well.

Had a great weekend. Didn't float. It rained that morning but man it turned out beautiful the rest of the weekend. Spent 4 days just doing nothing but relaxing. Hope everyone else had fun.

Gary, you crack me up. I've been off the site for a few days but I hope your 6/29 bio break went well. Hope all subsequent bio breaks have gone well but please spare the details.

Layne did a fantastic job on this website and I appreciate his hard work. Also appreciate all the efforts going into making the reunion a success.

My family was up for the 4th (well, most of them - my brother is currently serving in Afghanistan). We had a great time, spoiled the nephew madly and absolutely obeyed the "no fireworks" law (wink, wink).

Hello, all.
Looking for a canoeing partner for Gary's proposed float trip...
Was on the Jack's Fork last weekend, and got the bug back. Had forgotten how beautiful it is in Southern Missouri.
