Obituary for Patricia Anne Bass

Patricia A. Bass (Pat) - Wife to Sam, mother to Kelly and Steve and hero to her grandchildren, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2016, at 72 years old. A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 4, 2016 for Pat at Highland Oaks Church of Christ in Dallas, Texas. Pat Bills and George Baker will be officiating.

Pat was born to John and Marigold Brawner on February 20, 1944, in Dallas, Texas. She was married to Carroll Sherman Bass (Sam) for 53 years. She loved her family and friends, and they adored her.

Pat was a servant. If you needed something, she was there. She wanted to be surrounded by family and friends as often as possible. She was known by family and friends as “the hostest with the mostest”. She never wanted to miss a party, and, she never shied away from throwing her own. She was her husband’s only love, her children’s greatest supporter, and her grandchildren’s biggest fan.

Pat is survived by her husband, Sam; children: Kelly Wilson and husband Greg Wilson, and Steve Bass; and grandchildren: Samantha and husband Josh Hood, Abby Wilson and fiancé Clayton Arnold, Jake Bass, and Blaize Bass. Pat is preceded in death by her parents John and Marigold Brawner.

We wish to express our sincere thanks and gratitude to nurses and the entire staff in the ICU at Medical Center of Plano. We are most thankful for your heartfelt care and comfort you provided.

The visitation for Pat will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, August 3, 2016 at Restland Funeral Home.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.

I knew and loved Pat since age 14. We commuted to RHS together, hung out together, partied and had sleep overs together. It's painful to realize she's gone.

I didn't know Pat all that well, but my wife, Linda, most certainly did.  From all that Linda and others who knew her well have said, Pat was a really good friend and one classy lady!
