Graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Later attained a Masters in Divinity at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. While in Louisville, served as youth pastor at an inner-city church and developed a long-term multi-cultural ministry emphasis. Lived in Indianapolis for 3 years and pastored a mission church there. Moved back to the Richmond area in 1995 and soon afterwards met my eventual wife Carole. We married in April 1997 (At the wedding I played on guitar a song I composed for her). We settled in Hopewell, where Carole has lived her entire life. We have no children but five spoiled cats. My work is bi-vocational: I am an Assistant Manager at Doubletree Hotel by Richmond Airport and am part of the ministry leadership at Tikvat Israel Messianic Congregation in Richmond. Carole is a Registered Nurse and Clinical Education Director at Golden Living Center. We take yearly trips to Michigan to see some of Carole's relatives but our biggest trip was in 2006 when we spent two weeks in Israel- thankfully, that trip was not during any "border skirmishes."
