Cynthia Uyhelyi Halberda

I moved to Va Beach, VA with the family shortly after graduating High School. I married at age 20 and moved to Japan for five years, then earned a BS in Finance (CU) and an MPA (Management). It was in Japan that I started my Civil Service career with the US Government, which led me to reside in San Antonio, TX; Gulfport, MS; Colorado Springs, CO; Tampa, Florida; Al Dayton, OH, and Alexandria , VA. My only son has earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Townson University, MD and has worked in the Legislative Branch since 2014. Time has certainly flown by! Since I lost contact with just about everyone almost immediately upon making that first move to VA Beach in 1980, would love to reconnect with those still in VA. I visit my sister often in Midlothian and plan to retire there.

I have fun memories of being one of the five MHS Majorettes, until my senior year, when my uniforms burned in a house fire.......and then there were four! Acting as a Nightfire Productions Music Rep gave me a free pass into many otherwise closed venues during my Senior year, which eased the pain of having to give up the baton.
