I am happily married to Jason and we are expecting our first child in January. It is a girl, so of course a lot of pink was in order! I love my family very much. I am studying to be a reading specialist through Capella University's online master's degree program. after working as an English teacher full time for three years. I never left Virginia. I enjoy living in this state and consider it home. After graduating from W&M in 2000, I worked as a substitute teacher. This experience inspired me to return to school to earn a teacher's license. In 2007 I graduated from the University of Richmond's school of continuing studies. I have faith in the educational system and my ability to act as an instrument of change. I anticipate promoting literacy and helping students with learning disabilities.
