

JOHNSON, Basil Harvey Jr., 70, of Ashland, passed away on June 16, 2017.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Basil Harvey Johnson Sr. and Elizabeth Scott Johnson. Family left to cherish his memory include his wife of 50 years, Carol Tomlin Johnson of Ashland, Va.; sons, Basil Harvey "Bo" Johnson III (Pam), of Cedar Falls, Iowa and Heath Johnson (Gwynn) of Powhatan, Va.; and grandchildren, Haley, Bailey, Grace, Blair, Brett, Caleb and Sadie.
Harvey graduated from Hermitage High School, class of 1966. He honorably served his country in the Marine Corps Reserves. He was the founder and owner of Diesel Power of Virginia, Inc./Harvey's Transmissions. He loved fishing and relic hunting, but above all, loved his family.
The family will receive friends at Bliley's-Staples Mill on Monday, June 19, 2017, from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Bliley's-Staples Mill Chapel. Interment will follow at Emmanuel Episcopal Church Cemetery.
