LOL - well, it's good to know that the kids are in school from those cards, right? ;)

Do you not have parent-teacher progress type meetings there? (I'm not sure what they would be called in English really.)
Here it's a bit different of course, with perhaps 4 classes (called A, B, C and D of each grade, more or less letters depending on the number of children in that age group). Each class has two teachers and one or both of those meet with parents once per semester (or more if needed) to discuss how the child is doing in each subject and in school in general. Confusing?

Yeah, its called a parent-teacher conference. I've met with his teacher and will be meeting with her again tomorrow. I actually know how he is doing because I am at the school a lot. I go have lunch with my kids every week or 2 and I volunteer in one of Hudson's classes from time to time. I just really don't like the new grading system.

Anyway... how is the weather in Sweden? The high tomorrow in Georgia will be 32 degrees. That's pretty cold for the South.

Heather Evans (McFarlain) Tiffany, that would drive me crazy! At my kids' school, they get a number grade, so you REALLY know what they need to work harder on. Peyton barely squeaked out an A in one class and I was able to narrow down what she was struggling with. Instead of just A, B, C, D, I really like the number grade, 90, 95, etc. It's more like high school and you know where they stand.

Allison Oney (Ouzts) That system is CRAZY. I would hate it. You need to take your concerns to the board and see if they'll change it! Hope everyone is doing great! I am in my last two weeks of school. Graduation Feb. 27th!

Ben Wimberly Over a month since anyone posted. Time is passing quickly, if you guys want to plan a reunion we better get on it. Check your calendars and suggest some dates. Only weekend's we're not available right now are Apr. 30-May 4 (Cancun) and Aug. 7-9 (Dallas @ the CrueFest). Probably be in Arkanslaw @ Greeson July 4.

Melissa Salter (Akers) I was just thinking myself how quickly the calendar was turning. I will make some calls next week and see what I can find out for our options for Memorial Day or July 4th and move forward.

Heather Evans (McFarlain) Are we still having a reunion? We're going to be on vacation the week of July 4. Maybe we should shoot for Labor Day at this point or just pick a random weekend in June and go for that.

Heather Evans (McFarlain) So, does that mean we're having a reunion or not? Are we going to join in with the overall "Ringgold High School" reunion that is being planned or have our own? Even if it's just a casual get-together, I think we should do something on our own. I miss all my old peeps!

Allison Oney (Ouzts) I hate that things have fallen by the wayside for the reunion. What about a get together in September or October and we could all go to a football game at RHS. Maybe do dinner in Shreveport one night.

Good Morning All, I bet you think i totally have forgotten...Not really, just busy like the rest of the world. Everything has gotten away from me and possibly others, I haven't spoken to anyone so I am just throwing this out there...

We have a home game v Arcadia October 23rd. Is anyone interested in going to the game on Friday nite?

Saturday, Oct 24th @ noon, we can rent the pavillion at Cypress Lake & BBQ, hamburgers and hot dogs. keep it simple with chips, ect. It's only $50.00 to rent the pavillion and we can play volleyball, do horseshoes, ect. enjoy catching up and the kids can play. If we want to plan on gathering for the evening to do something at that time we can have a night out for those of us who do. Please send me a message by 9/17. If I get a good response, I will reserve it. That will give you out of town folks 30+ days to take a day off and arrange travel plans. This probably will be our last chance before we get in the holiday season to get together. let me know your thoughts. PS: To jog your memories, Our SR Skip Day was at Cypress Lake...

I think we could make arrangements to be there. We're going to Lafayette the weekend before that for a wedding on a Friday, so selfishly I'd like to have it on Saturday, Oct. 17, since I'll already be in the state. I'm not all that interested in going to a RHS football game but the Cypress Lake cookout sounds like a lot of fun. I think families would enjoy that and we could go out that night without kids. Overall, I like all of Melissa's ideas, I would just like for it to be a week earlier, on Oct. 17.

I cannot take total credit...Tait was the mastermind and called. My Dad & Tait's dad did say they would do the grilling if we wanted them to, then we wouldn't have to worry about that part we could just visit. We thought either each could bring their own meat for each family, not knowing how many folks would be there or guys bring meat, girls bring drinks/chips. depending on the response, we'll go from there....

as many of you men (and ladies for the ones of us independents who grill for themselves) know, it is nice to be able to visit and not be stuck at the grill all day, however, i believe a few, may use that as an excuse, to stay outside just a few extra minutes to get in one last cold drink, cause it does get hot by the grill and some folks get really thirsty!

Melissa Salter (Akers) Thanks so much for the feedback, so far I'm leaning towards Oct 16-17, pencil that in... but hoping to get more responses. So far we have about 10!! That is really not very many...Please keep passing the word. And Sara, thanks for letting me know about Evelyn. If anyone needs to respond for someone else, that's great. I can still get a count.
