You must have had enough rest, Donna D.B., because you're already planning the next event...
Great to hear from you again...I know that you needed a break to do other things, but I'm glad that you're back!
Take care..talk to you guys again soon!
Let's all go to New Zealand! It's a wonderful place!

Hi All! Glad to see everyone's posts! What a class! Patti - so glad you remembered the boat episodes, as I recall you and Pam and I skipped school (only once or twice), took out my Dad's boat and spent the day water skiing and drinking w/ a couple of the guys! Think Henry was there and Mike Kelty (sp? and where is he??) and who else? Do you remember hitting the beach so hard you came out of your ski and skidded across the beach on hands, knees and belly? You were really pretty scratched up - and I think that's when your Dad figured out we had skipped - duh! How sweet that he didn't turn us in, and I think he wrote an excuse for us - or way that your mom?? xoxo

Barbara- I had no idea anyone else partied like that except my drunkin friends.. too funny..It is a wonder we didn't run into each other..literally...I remember getting caught by my Dad with a boat load of beer cans.. and I told him we used them to practice our slalom skiing - throw them out and cut around them.. I should have been punished for hurting the enviroment and/or being a bad liar..Then there was the fall contests.. whoever had the worst fall was champion of the day.. you had to draw blood to get above a 90... what was I thinking? The most interesting group were the Bills boys.. They would always tug on a part of my bikini as I dove off the boat to ski.. I am still mortified... I cannot believe how the intracoastal waterway shrank.. It had to have been wider.. I spent more time in that dirty water than in school.. that is for sure..Great memories.

I remember it well...it was senior skip day, & even though I was ready to be wild & crazy, I asked my parents for permission (only to skip)...I am or was such a nerd that I wouldn't have skipped if they had said "no"...
This is what I remember...it rained...we parked the boat under a bridge & drank rum (I think)...yes, hitting the beach at full speed was painful, very painful, & blood was involved (do I get a "9"?), but Barb, do you remember teaching me how to slalom in our kitchen, showing me how to relax & you were the rope pulling me up? I'll never forget how much fun I had at your house! Your parents were the greatest...they let us hang out & we always felt welcome.

Who are the Bills boys? I don't remember them, & if there were a bunch of us on the Intracoastal, why didn't we see each other?
Another thing that I remember, Barb, was us taking your boat out at night & seeing all the plankton...what a fantasmic experience! That was something that I'll never forget!
Love talking to you guys!

It was rum!! that ol demon. And we spent the quite a bit of time under that bridge! How crazy were we, guess we thought we wouldn't get hit by lightening under the high iron overpass. Keen acoholic thinking no doubt. Donna we must have been too drunk to recognize each other as we stumbled by. Only by the grace of God are we here I think. Probably not a bad thing that we each didn't drink with every single class member, probably all be dead.

Greg Bills was our age but he was shipped off by his parents to boarding school in Connecticut, he graduated from University of Dallas. He was probably shipped off the same time my mother tried to ship me off to boarding school in Philadelphia - she even had my trunk packed. I locked myself in my room and threatened to run away if the sent me - I probably sounded like I meant it. Don Titcomb's parents and my parents and a few other parents were very concerned about the teacher strikes. And hence the discussions/plans to ship us out. In fact there were 3 schools that I applied to in the Northeast that expressly turned me down due to the teacher strikes, even sent me letters telling me that. Don and I talked about it at the reunion and he had the same experience. O well. Groovy days.

In my parents' time, alot of kids were sent to boarding school....my dad was sent to Texas & I think he became a cowboy guy going to Honky-Tonks...some kind of Catholic Boys' School...he even thought that he wanted to become a priest! Imagine that! With 5 kids by time I met you!
The thing that I remember the most about the strike was losing Mr. Mole (I can't remember his name), but I do remember what an Erg is.
Let's keep talking!

Hi all!

You aren't talking enough!

Stuff happens & we all need to keep in touch!

Well, tonight, we had a couple over for dinner, which is very strange for me, because I am really a loner, believe it or not, & we made them play Wii with us.
I don't hate to admit it, but I do...we're video game freaks....I've had every Nintendo that has ever existed..
I love you Zelda~
Don't stay away you guys!...love hearing from you Barb! Glad that you're on board!
We need to keep communicating, so that we can stay in touch!
I can't believe that Jim has copped out! He must be on his Xanadu! Love you!

We had a wonderful wrap up reunion meeting Saturday night.. Thanks to all the people who helped make this year's reunion so successful.. We talked about our get together for our 60th birthday year.. We are looking for slogans (Pam already has a poem) ... We are leaning toward a 3 day cruise... now we need the date.. It is cheaper to go before school is out.. and after summer the hurricanes can screw everything up.. so with a 2 year notice I hope people who want to attend can make plans and save up...although it can be as low as $250.00 pp for a 3 night cruise - leaves Friday afternoon and back in Miami at 7:30 am on Monday.. let me know your thoughts.

Hey Everyone,
I flew the gulfstream into Jupiter to attend the reunion wrap up meeting. It was wonderful seeing everyone again.
I am so onboard for a cruise! There is no way we can wait even 5 years before getting together again. I had a great lunch with Ann Woodward Statler yesterday and we looked up and sitting at the table beside us was Jenny and Mark Woodard. Love those two and it was great seeing them too!

I am in Tequesta until Sept. 10th and then heading to Denver to see my son.

Love to All!!!!

Donna

William "Chip" Madsen

Just got a note from my nephew/godson Steve Madsen from Afghanistan where he is working as a chef for the military. Steve was born about 4 months after his father, my brother, was killed in a FP&L accident. I reconnected with him last year after a long hiatis and am extremely proud of him. I flew him to a family reunion a year ago in Arkansas and he told me he was trying to find out more about his dad. I told him to hook up with John Lott when he was in FL.

John was my brother's best friend and they did some very wild and crazy things together. During the reunion, john told me about the time he and my brother went out and hooked an alligator with a snook feather and, between knowcking down beers, almost got him into the boat until the gator got a second wind and broke free. Thank god he did because god knows what John and Steve would have done with a live gator in the boat with two shit-faced fishermen piloting it.

i worry everyday about Steve in Afghanistan, but he's developig into a fine young man, except he told me he was going to Thailand for some R&R, buy a monkey so he would have someone to drink with. An apple doesn't fall far from a tree, I guess.

Well, I guess it's time to send the message at the top of this page to the prior page...I've been thinking of printing out the message board for our next reunion...can that be done?
What's going on with everyone?
I think that we're finally recovering from our trip to WPB & beyond...so what's next? I'm about ready for a new adventure!
Can't wait to hear from you. Take care!

My sojourn in Tequesta is nearing it's end. I've loved spending time with my mother and brothers, seeing some longtime friends, early morning walks and swims in the warm Atlantic. But seriously folks the heat and humidity are brutal My Mom's pool was up to 95 and that's just too hot!

I've missed my husband, home, friends etc in California
but I understand I've also missed the smoke from the fires, 103 degree heat and 70 degree water in the Pacific.

I leave Thursday for Denver with a little side trip to Vail then return to Calif. I will miss all of you here in South Florida !

I was just thinking, & does anyone remember the milk machines?
I remember my mother sending me to the 7/11 on the corner of Military Trail & Northlake to buy milk. You put in 2 quarters, like a coke machine, & 1/2 gal. milk came out of a chute...Does anyone else remember that?
Just curious.
