Danny, RED ALERT....watch out for Ellrich ..... what he really means is he wants to take over your business via a major corporate buy out! That's the way he works.... he plays up to you then....BAMB .. he's got you lock, stock, & barrel! He did the same to me last month..... why do you think the name of my business got changed to Davie's Little Doll Houses???? It sure wasn't my doings! Yeah, Ellrich is one smooth Dude Danny, so keep an eye on him at all times and what ever you do, do not agree to party with him as you will not remember anything the next day and your accountant will be calling you screaming, "What the hell were you thinking??!!"

And by that time it will be too late, little Davie will already have taken over your operations and he will have sent one of his associates (and they are all Bay Watch category sweeties that you can't say no to)to take over the reins of your business.

Just a word of caution Danny. I gotta go now cause Pamela wants me to go to the bank.

Ron,
Thanks for the warning.. It may be too late. When I saw Dave at the reunion, he said he needed some investors for a doll house company he was putting together .. I never made the connection!! Well, there goes fifty bucks I'll never see again..
As for my business. If you think the housing market is down, how many people do you think need to buy a race horse, right now?? He may need to look for something a little more thriving.. Maybe he could write a book on 'How to build stronger calves in just one lifetime" and I'm not talking veal either!
I'll be on the lookout for the bay watch babe tho.. I should at least hear what she has to say!

I see that conversation has diminished a bit since the reunion...sorry to see the downsizing, especially since this has been such a great exchange...
Please don't abandon this conversation...it has been great, & I, personally, don't want to lose you!

If ya want to get a response, ya gotta stir up the pot.

Like, just ask Rhine if he ever had to have his game jersey washed in 4 years? Or ask the class who it was that dared Meehan to throw that candy machine off the fourth floor balcony of Jennings Hall for 50 cents?... Or ask Meat did he use his right hand or left? Another good one would be ask Mueller how many times he lost his retainer the quarter I got kicked out of my dorm and had to live w/he & Schwencke. Or maybe ask Robinson why he never knew how much time was left in the game or what the score ever was. Hey, I know, ask Rimi about the proper way to carry 2 kegs of beer in a SUV to our Beach Party.. that should get a response. And there is always that so easy one.... ask McLaughlin the real reason he married an attorney!

OK Patti, your on your own. You can do it.

Greetings from the left coast. It is sizzling out here with the daytime temps being close to 100. No humidity though. Patty, I'll bet your temps would put us to shame so I'll shut up. We went to a very cool car show last weekend and I thought about Metcalf and Ruskay and their love of cars.
There was a 1968 GTO that had been turned into a pick up similar to an El Camino. They said it was the only one in the world. Also lots of 1968 - 1969 Mustangs, Camaros and Firebirds with a few GTO's thrown in. There was also a concert by a group called "Hot August Nights". They are a Neil Diamond tribute band and even though I don't love Neil Diamond we went. (I saw Neil Diamond back in the day at Music Casters so I was just keeping up the nostalgia thing that has been going on since the reunion.) Anyway, they were really good.
Also have been hanging out in Laguna Beach where all the art festivals are going on. If any of you come to California during July and August this is the place to be if you don't mind crowds.

I'm glad to hear Mr. Doll rattling the cages again. I'm sure there are many stories from the old days that we would all love to hear again!!!

I'm not going to say that Ron is a Doll...Y'all have run that into the ground, even though it's true...thanks for making everyone stay in the forum, Ron...you seem to be a stronghold that makes everyone keep on keeping on!
I'll do my best to spur your horse! Let's keep this going..I am ready to hear about how networking will still change your lives, & I don't mind sitting in the fields, & picking the corn to revel in your successes! I love you guys!

07/24/09 12:48 AM #318

Patti Jackson (Weeks)

Now I'll respond to you Ron!
Jack Rhine was way out of my league...What a great guy! I was way too shy to ever think that he would notice me!
Meehan....I just can't say enough about John...he is the greatest guy ever..I feel like that he really made me start to think about esoteric things.
Larry Mueller...Hummmm...good golfer...was he? He sure helped me when I knew nothing...good on you, Larry!!
Steve McLaughlin...he is an enigma to me still...& why shouldn't he be?
Oh, by the way, even when I was 17, I thought that Larry Mueller was a pervert, & I really miss Sandy Johnson!

Whatever happened to Mike Keilty ...all those other people that we knew?

I'm still glad that you all are here for me to talk to!

I just found out that today is "National Tequila Day."
How great is that? Guess I'll have to sample a few shots this evening, can't not celebrate a day like this!

Also, for all you surfers out there, the surf is ripping at Huntington and Newport's Wedge but Great White's have been spotted off Malibu and San Onofre.

Those are my public service announcements for today.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

07/24/09 06:17 PM #320

Patti Jackson (Weeks)

Donna,
I would love to celebrate Tequila Day w/ you, but there was a party that I had in Miami back in the 70's, & my apartment smelled like tequila for days...out of my pores, & everyone else's who didn't make it home that night! Some things get laid to rest...goodbye Mr. Tequila, Mr. Gin, Mr. Whiskey & Bourbon, & almost Mr. Vodka, especially you Ms. Sloe Gin!..Ugh!
Who had that party on the boat when we were seniors? I want to say that it was Henry's dad's boat & I talked Pam & Barb & I don't know who else into going, even though it wasn't the right thing to do, & I don't remember which guys were there, except Robin & of course Henry..& anyone else that thought that they could "score" w/ Ms. Sloe Gin in everyone's system....who remembers that?
Donna, have a great time, & maybe with the right company, some of my Mr's might be revived, but if they do..hold on to your pants!

07/24/09 11:49 PM #321

Donna Samples (Pintsak)

OMG Patti, I had forgotten all about sloe gin fizzes! They were too sweet and got you drunk as a skunk! One weekend Marian Patterson and I were driving around with a milk bottle full of sloe gin fizzes. (Real responsible right?) We got stopped by a police officer but he was so busy looking down Marian's blouse that I was able to pour them
out the other side of the car. We got away with that one.

Do you remember the Purple Passion Punch? I think it was grape juice and Everclear...that was another nasty one!

I did celebrate National Tequila Day today but only in the most responsible fashion!

07/25/09 01:18 AM #322

Patti Jackson (Weeks)

Donna,
You just made me laugh out loud (okay, kinda snort) & I didn't even remember Everclear until you said it!
New Year's Eve...our senior year...Someone spiked the punch w/ Everclear, plus Wendy (I can't remember her last name) was catching pink butterflies, & I was only just beginning to understand that whole thing (I am slow in so many ways!) & Everclear is only a step above Muscatel!...Glad you had a great time tonight!
I love your story about being able to pour it all out when the cops stopped you...I wasn't quite so lucky in Tallahassee when I got stopped...I missed the window & Boone's Farm was everywhere & it surely did smell like it! Glad that I had a lawyer friend to help me out...You take care now...talk to you later!

07/25/09 10:59 PM #323

Patti Jackson (Weeks)

Okay,
Ask about Jack's jersey?....Ask my mother & brother Joe about how his socks didn't get washed for 4 yrs! You will never find a more avid sports fan & superstitious person than my mother!
I thought that Frannie dared Meehan & maybe Anne Woodward, but I'm not sure....there's a tale about that in our notes, aren't there? Look back a couple of pages.
What does everyone else remember? Come on you guys! Let's keep this going...(& you, Ron, are the best cheerleader or maybe the next best cheerleader...I'll have to see how you fit my very special T-shirt given to me at the beach party!)
Talk to you later...can't wait to hear from you...Don't make me wait too long...If you answer back with secrets of your own high school feelings & memories, I'll tell you more of mine, too!
It can only be fun... what is there to hide after all this time? Memories & feelings...it made us who we are!

07/26/09 11:12 PM #324

Patti Jackson (Weeks)

Where are you? I can't keep doing this on my own forever!
You're brave guys & gals...speak out...Donna P.S., at least you don't mind telling your tales...who could know?

07/29/09 09:57 PM #325

Donna Samples (Pintsak)

John Meehan, good to hear from you again. Your golf tourney sounds like too much fun!

Some news for all you Gators out there...Penn State has taken over from U of Florida as the number one party school in the nation. How could you guys let that happen????
And what the hell is a Nittany Lion anyway???

Also, California is trying to ban nude sunbathing at all state beaches so if certain of you guys were considering coming out to enjoy the sun au natural you'd better hurry
up!

Meehan,
We should all set goals in life.. I would be more than happy to get you on a Thoroughbred.. But I'm sorry to have to be the one to tell you, you will never grow up to be a jockey.. However, it sounds like you do stand a chance to become a professional golfer... It's not too late to change the plan!..

Cheryl Polley (Briscoe)

Hi all,
I was finally able to track Metcalf down - he said to tell everyone he's alive and well after spending the day in surgery this past week to have five areas of skin cancer removed from various parts of his person. He said he's feeling great and thinks they got everything. Apparently he's bandaged up like one of the monsters from Thriller. He promised to get back on here soon. Oh, and by the way, it seems his reunion-romance is alive and well also......

Hey John - congrats on the new grandbaby - that's so cool. I imagine you're having a lot of fun with her.

Hope everyone is having a great summer

It is so nice to hear from all of you again...I thought for a minute that the site was losing & we were losing!
Thank you John M...I think that you know that we had a connection at some point in time between then & now!
What, Donna! No more nudity? We must rush out to CA before it's too late!
Poor Donna D.B...she probably doens't want anything to do with us until she gets over all the work that she put into the reunion, & I certainly can't blame her!
I wish that I were still playing golf..I haven't played in 20yrs!...My game of choice...that & pool...I think of them as synomynous in a way, because no matter how well you play or don't, you can hardly wait to do it again, because it will always be better! Love you guys!

Patti Jackson (Weeks)

Oh! Congratulations John on your next grandchild! I still find it hard to respond to the fact that "we are there!" in those respects, but I'm just being a baby & how can we all possibly be that old!

Glad everyone is picking this up again, though no one submitted since the end of July-must be on vacation. I’m still out there looking for a gig although my lawyer says I have a good chance at winning my legal action and getting a nice severance package. We’ll see! Could use a year’s paid vacation. In the meantime, I’ve set up my own company, William Madsen & Associates, LLC; have done a couple of pro bono jobs to get noticed and have written a grant for NYC that should give me work for a year if it comes through.

I’ve also retaken up the game of golf again after 20 years and just broke 100 a week ago and am working to break 90 by the end of the summer. What a goal – bogey golf!

Forgot to mention - I saw Valerie Dettman's brother Charles' name on the front page of the NY Times yesterday about the crappy job market in Riviera Beach. Very depressing and similar to the market up here in NJ. I hope we get through these tough times.

08/05/09 11:37 AM #333

Donna Samples (Pintsak)

I think the job market in California is even worse. I did get a part-time job that's interesting and enjoyable and that's what I was looking for. Good luck to everyone in finding something acceptable.

I am winging my way Coast to Coast this weekend for some family time. So, don't expect to hear from me for awhile since I don't travel with a laptop or "crackberry" as my friend Ann calls it. I am hoping to see a few of you during my journeys!

Let's do keep this thing going. Ken Benoit was able to re-connect with an old friend of his from Hawaii because
he e-mailed me after reading one of the messages I posted
and I saw his friend playing in the band with Huey Lewis.
I just think it was meant to be.

I'm so glad that we're talking...
About jobs..work...what to do..what to do...I love that there are tons of you out there who have it covered! I hope that Steven & I do, in that we are our own business!
Enough about that!
Let's keep in touch, okay?

I have been vacationing/working as a travel agent.. and sad to say packed up our second home in Vermont because it sold.. I really loved it there, but since we got it for our little boy to go to camp...and he is 22.. I guess it was time for another family with little ones to enjoy the mountains..
Went to Hog Mountain, Georgia for Don's family reunion.. Wow.. I was the driver to Don and his brother as we visited old homesteads and graveyards.. I took pictures to make a memory book for both of them.. Everytime I saw boiled peanut signs- all I could think of is pulling over and getting a six pack and some peanuts and turning the music up real loud..(this was not on the agenda) But this was one of those important paybacks.. he put up with me being very caught up in the class reunion.. So this is what keeps a marriage going 33 years..a good attitude.

Several classmates do not want to wait 5 years to get back together so we were thinking about something in two years when most of us will be turning 60... Some ideas are
1. A weekend cruise...leaving out of Miami(about 250 pp)
2. Big birthday party beach party in Jupiter
3. Weekend retreat in the mountains.. (place to be determined)
4. Any suggestions?
We have time to plan.. but I really want input.. So talk to people who may not come to this site and get back to me/ us .. and think about joining the committee.. it is so fun and everyone is welcome..
Love, Donna Day
