With two teenagers, it is best to avoid high school stories. I still have relatives in Roanoke so I get back a few times a year. I have great memories of Cave Spring.
A funny thing did happen just last month. I was at a reception in Abingdon, VA and introduced myself to the guy sitting next to me. You can imagine my surprise when he introduced himself as Garland Life, our old principal. Turns out he is a recent neighbor in Johnson City. We had lunch two weeks ago. He did not remember me. Guess I managed to stay beneath his radar!
