John Thomas (Tom) Wren, 39, of Vinton, Va., beloved husband and father, died on Saturday, November 29, 2008. Tom was born January 15, 1969, in Charlottesville, Va. He was the son of George T. Wren and the late Mary Ellen O'Boyle. Tom is survived by his wife, Traci Wren; and their two children, Jordan and Miles Wren, of Vinton; his father, George Wren; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Jimmy Williamson; and her two daughters, Casey Arthur and Taylor Carter, all of Roanoke; father and mother-in-law, James and Connie Miles, of Daleville; sister and brother-in-law, Toni and Tom Griesmer, of Memphis, Tenn.; and their two sons, Luke and Jake Griesmer. Tom was employed by the Federal Government where he worked for 11 years as a United States Probation Officer. He also enjoyed working as an adjunct Criminal Justice Professor for Radford University. He attended Northside High School and graduated from Radford University in May of 1991 with a degree in Criminal Justice. He received a master's degree in criminal justice from Radford in May of 2007. A memorial service celebrating Tom's life will be held 2 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2008, at Oakey's East Chapel.
