10/19/08 01:22 PM #941     Chris Akers Hello all, It was great catching up with everyone Friday night despite the crappy weather... sorry we had to bail at the bar, but Kelly *really* can't stand cigarette smoke. It was cool seeing a few folks who couldn't make it to the reunion. I stopped by Jon Groves' garage again on Saturday to tell him he was missed. All you guys in Roanoke should use him as your mechanic if you need anything done - he's the best. Maybe if enough people stop by his shop and pester him, he'll make it to the next event. :) Jolee, Dean and Carla (and everyone else who helped with this event) - great work as always!

I took a nice long walk around my daddy's old homeplace and spent some time with his family (the 1 year anniversary of his death is coming up) so it was the peace I needed to have some time to reflect. Let me know if you have time for lunch this week if not I will bring the fishbowl back to you....yes I still have it! I am sorry I missed out on the good time it sounds like everyone had a blast. Anyone wanting me to mail it can message me to let me know. I will let you know what you will owe with the shipping and you can send a check...as soon as I get the check I will put the shirt in the mail. As far as "extra" shirts...I have 3 large hoodies, 2 large t-shirts(men or womens) and 2 medium ladies cut t-shirts.

Thanks to everyone that came out, I had an awesome time, and wish I would have kept in touch with more people over the years. Barry L. what you said Friday night about how we all come back to the same point..from graduation to the 10-15-20 year reunions, it's so true. I'm glad we got to hang out Friday night, sorry about the Tech game :( GO LIONS !!!

That's our job, to embarrass our kids right? As for Jeff Alexander, I knew immediately the yearbook picture of what he looked like, just had a hard time putting the past picture to the now. Sorry I didn't get the chance to talk to him :( Chris Akers, as for us comparing songs, "Afternoon Delight" is still running thru my head. What I was going to share and got side-tracked was that I put the song "Sexual Healing" as John's ringtone...all in good fun considering he works from home, it's when I would call him during Youth Group that he had to start putting it on vibrate. Your wife is great, so sweet, sorry you guys couldn't hang with us longer, you should have said something before we went inside. I went to get my id (yea we had to show our age to get in if you can believe that) and you guys were gone :( Kristin FR- I finally emptied out my truck, but still didn't find anything but some Bojangles..ha...I still remember one being in the way back with your yellow coat. I'll look again to see if it slid between the seats or something... Greg - next time you and the Mrs. head to Lancaster to go shopping call/email me ahead of time. I'm only 20 miles from there. Shannon - same for you, next time you visit your sister in Hershey. Would love to have you over. Kelly - If you come up after Christmas to see Gramps, let me know and we'll make plans to go out...I'll buy the Yuengling :) GO PHILLIES !!!!!!!!! Is one of your crew cheering this year? Even if not, I'm in the parking lot all the time...waiting to pick up Kenzie. I got to talk to Stacey Parr as she was driving home Sunday morning...she expressed how sad she was to be leaving, that she had such a great time both nights. I told her that was how so many of us felt back in July after the reunion. Then you could only hope to catch up with more classmates from this point on. I do hope we can all continue to get together.

My niece, Kayla may be having a new year's eve party at Grandpas..how in the hell does that happen??????? I said Dad teenagers love loud music, he said that's ok she will be fine. WHAT????? Oh well I love it and glad my dad is close to the kids! Well being back in San Antonio sucks. I am once again alone! Well have my dog and she was so pissed at me this morning. I think it's a combo of me taking her away from her 2 friends last night and leaving her for a week. My kids were excited to see me back. They hated the substitute. They asked if I was ok because I was in a bad mood. Just said I miss home. And man do I miss it. So I am planning on driving home for Christmas. I get 2 weeks off so I think I will. I am not into the ATL airport anymore. Driving is better and Nikki can come with me. I am still planning on the move this summer. Hopefully things will go well and I will either rent or sell my house. Pray hard! Kristen WB sorry I missed your call. If I don't call you this week definitely this weekend. I will keep my fingers and toes crossed that your house sells. So, is your dad doing okay since his surgery? Sounds like he is recuperating well. Which day is Mr. Dyer's surgery? Going in late today...tried to sleep in...there is no such thing with a Jack Russell. She is getting "fixed" today, so Johnny just took her to the vet. I am teaching an end of life class tonight from 4-7:30, so I decided to go into the office later this am. Hmmm....the bed is calling! I am too old to be staying out too late! Anybody else feel like that? Kelly~ Hope all is well with you....miss you! Let's get together for lunch sometime soon. If anybody ever wants to do lunch, I can go just about any day besides Monday....but I am right downtown so I can run anywhere. Turbo~ Where are you now? Let's definitely get together soon. Enjoyed all the conversations, memories, and crazy/hilarious situations. Erik~you are the only stepdad who recieved a text message stating your stepdaughter's friends think you are hot! Yes, I had to look up Jeff A. too. He was in our 11th grade yearbook but I did not see him in the '88 book. I need to make a list of thoughts for each of you & I will post it. Jolee~Thank you for organizing the get together for Homecoming weekend. You're the best. Carla~The hoodies are perfect. I love it & will wear it when it gets cool down here. I am going to put the picture taken of us in front of the Jr. High (with our hoodies on) in a frame & put in my classroom next semester. I will be teaching a "Reading Elective" class at the middle school where I substitute. Girls if you ever want to have a slumber party like Jolee mentioned, I would like to offer Raleigh as the host city. You are all welcome anytime at my house or we could get some rooms at the Embassy Suites (my favorite) & shop, eat, maybe go to a day spa? & go out on the town. I'll put some websites for you to check out & you all can tell me if you are interested.
