Anyone ever do Discovery Cove? The dolphin trainer thing they offer? Looks like the Carribean will be on hold as we are planning a Florida trip with the kids in February. Just wondering.

Well the pain meds seem to be working :) He's doing good, doing the ice packs. I don't think he'll be up for mowing the grass or anything anytime soon.

Shannon - not sure if I will make it or not, so for the time being just pencil me in.

Kristen - We will do Carraba's or we can go somewhere by King of Prussia or near Exton / West Chester. Doesn't matter to me. I'm sure by now you are ready to have some girl time.

Okay, I'm officially pissed...the kid got TWO D's on her report card!! What the hell|?!?!?! And when I ask her if she has homework...."a little..." Um, yeah, the #1 comment on her report card..."Assignments late/missing." Okay, this is the kid who really doesn't study and makes A's and B's. And now, when it counts the most for college...helllooooo?

So~I have emailed the teachers, asked them to move her to the FRONT of the class where MAYBE my little Social Butterfly will pay attention...(And I don't want to hear..well, she's just like her momma). So we'll see how she likes that...

And I ask you fellow classmates....what else would you do? Cell phone gone? Computer gone? Soap would be a luxury? No food or water? Honestly, looking for what methods anyone else has used...I'm into pain too...

I thank you...

I am thinking of becoming a student sitting behind my little one in class Jolee a little embarassment goes a long way........ I think I shared the story from a couple of years ago when I walked to Maggie to class with my pink fuzzy pjs because she kept running late to fix her hair you think I have any shame NO.........a couple of "does not pay attention in class" does not work for me...........it has not been a fun night at the Crute house and it ain't because I am pissed about politics this time........Maggie has cried for 2 hours it ain't pretty round here. For older kids I imagine it is harder to impact them, one day I pulled Maggie out of class for picking on another kid and boy she knew she was in big trouble for that one.....if anyone knows an East Salem teacher yes I am that parent they dread.............

Faye~ Not fun here tonight either...it pissed her off that I emailed the teachers...oh WELL! Her lifeline is the cell phone and myspace...one of them is definitely going...and there may be a sacrificial experience right in front of her eyes...she knows momma is mad...she went right to her room after handing it to me...I know she still heard me, hell, you all in Salem probably heard me! Johnny was a smart boy...went to Walmart.

I must be the biggest slacker parent in comparison...for the most part all our kids have done well in school. As long as they are trying and doing their best we don't say much about grades. Last year our oldest goofed off alot, grades proved that, but we didn't do anything except tell her that for all the years she's excelled in school now wasn't the time to be goofing off when she's looking at colleges. She managed to pull it out of her hat in the end and bring all her grades up when it counted. This year I've seen her study more and do more homework than I have in years. Sometimes it's a reality check they have to figure out on their own. But all kids are different, and what works for one, doesn't work for another.

okay after getting lectured from my mom about being too hard, I just got a call that really has me wondering.........mine got 1 C, 2 B's, 3 A's. there are 2 kids that I know that struggled to the point of taking summer school that just made all b's and a's so can a teacher's grading be that much different or am I being a freak? I know Maggie can do better that is my point but most of the papers came home as B's with 1 or 2 C's so wouldn't the average be a B? its only 3rd grade so yes I am being a freak BUT I was not a good student so I gotta stay on this stuff early.

I need some pointers Vicky, I would not say your a slacker at all I just think you probably are smart enough not to sweat the small stuff which is a problem I have yet to cure. All kids perform differently so its impossible to think all kids are going to be A/B students, I guess I just need to get over it, gosh its hard to be a parent.............

My rule has always been with kenzie as long as she tried I was okay. Until it is time for the colleges to start looking. Then it becomes quite serious. That is where we are now.

Hey everyone,

Vicky..Glad to know John is doing well.

I think you girls should pack up a van and head to San Antonio! You can ALL crash at my house there is a lot to do and we can even cross the border into Mexico if you want. It's only 3 hours away. We have the riverwalk, Sea World, Six Flags and of course THE SPURS! Go Spurs go! Well I know its a 20 hour drive but if 5 of you come at least..that's only 4 hours of driving for each of you...see why I teach math? lol..
seriously you have about 9 months and I am pretty sure Im moving home. Keep the prayers up because I need it.

But after being home, being with my dad, my brother and sister in law and their kids and of course everyone from NHS, I am sooooooooooooo ready to come home. I left in 1992 after I graduated from Radford and never wanted to go back until truly now. Hopefully it works out!

Have a great night everyone talk to you soon!

If anyone wants to come get one over the weekend let me know so I can make sure I am here when you come...just don't come on Saturday night unless you want to help run a halloween party for 14 kids!

Stefanie Lugar

Greg and Jolee- I'm up for lunch Friday @ Martins. Let me know what time...... Greg you can't go there for lunch and expect to make up for missing out Sat. night. Jolees not gonna do her pole dance again and especially during lunch. Where did you learn that stuff Jolee?

Greg- I think you're right. Someone is using Stacey's idenity. Jolee can you look in to that.

Stacey- If that is really you, I hope you haven't started drinking Amstels on a daily basis. Maybe you have and that is why you are FINALLY on here. I had a great time this past weekend. Let me know when you are back in town.

Shannon- Ooooh, I forgot about Hanz snd Franz. You know you still got it when your approached by one of those guys.

Let's try and do the girl's weekend sooner than later. After Christmas seems so far away although it will be here and gone before we know it. Any possibility we can do it before Christmas? I don't even know where I will be after Christmas. I could be at corporate headquarters for the Leven by then if I play my cards right. Just keep me posted. I'm there as of this hour.

Kristen- I think Greg has rigged the Thanksgiving Survey. I bet only he and the girls can see it and respond to it. And yes there will be a video camera there. You don't have a problem with that do you? Poor Greg- He wants to be a part of the girls weekend. We'll have to think of something for him so he feels like one of the girls. We truely love you DJ GT!

Jolee- About your daughter, doesn't she have to maintain a certain grade avg. to play sports? Would she be upset if she couldn't play? Seems like we had that rule back in the day. Maybe it was my parents rule and they made us think is was nationwide. Damn, I am no help to you on that one but I have no doubt that you will figure it out. You always do!

Kelly- What's up with that sign in your front yard? I'm thinking some stranger came by and put it there and never told you. Surely you wouldn't swing that way would you?

IM SO TIRED!!!!!
Nite.
Happy Birthday to anyone who has a birthday tomorrow, Fri., Sat., or the rest of the month.

Jolee- About the Dog Walk, I was thinking of taking the little one. I can't handle both at the same time. They are complete FREAKS when they are together and our chances of getting kicked out are much less if I take just one. Are you wanting to go? Hopefully I won't slide back into a coma before then. I have construction going on at my house so I will have to make sure they are done and gone before I leave. Let me know your thoughts.

Stef and Girls~Sooner (before Christmas) for our weekend is more than fine with me!!

Greg Terry

ok Martins for lunch on Friday. Does anyone have a time preference? My calendar is clear most of the day. I'm going to say 11:45ish. Let me know if that doesn't work. You guys can call me if something comes up. My cell is on my profile page.

Stef - I agree no pole dancing. I don't want to be banned from Martins!

10/23/08 08:40 AM #1004

Jolee Clarke (Preston)

Stef~ I learned the pole dancing routine from some $5.00 video in Walmart...funny, now that I remember, it's called "The Lugar Lapdance and Other Fun Pole Dances." And it didn't have any fishing poles in it...I knew it was you from the 7-11 smock...fess up. And don't think I don't know what "construction" means in your house...it's putting another pole in...

Pizza Pasta Pit today at 12:30...Martins tomorrow at 11:45...can't wait! Anybody who can come, please do!

And Stef, I pulled the "you can't play basketball with D's...she said, "I just have to be passing." Damn.

Susie~ Hope you get to come home soon.

10/23/08 08:45 AM #1005

Trina Schossow (Folden)

Vicky...hope John is feeling better and am glad that the surgery went well.

Shannon...count me in for the slumber party weekend. I will be there if I can swing it. I hit the road again the first week of November and am gone at least a few days each week, but will see what I can do.

Turbo...ease up on the girl. One C in 3rd grade doesn't mean much. I do understand your feelings and had the same when Nicky brought his first C, because like Maggie, I knew he was a better student than that. I backed off, let him work it out and now, HE gets upset if he brings home a C.

Would love to lunch with everyone this week, but I'm staying far away. I have been fatigued and feverish since Sunday. Fever broke, but it turned into a stomach bug, so I'm trying to keep my germs to myself. Came into the office this morning, to pick up everything that I could need for the rest of the week and am heading back home shortly. Have fun and let me know if anyone wants to try for a day next week.

Faye Sowers (Crute)

Jolee heading to the rep headquarter and will bring your Palin rally ticket to lunch. Looking forward to it!

Trina hope you feel better soon! Thanks for the advice, I took my chill pill last night and trying to recover.....

on a side note I got busted so bad by Maggie this week for something I said so I am going to try.......try I say with watching how offending I can be.........

Kelly can't wait to hear about these signs of yours....we are all anticipating your answer.....

Kristin Fisher (Rush)

Hey guys, i just might meet you for lunch today. I have never eaten there but have always wanted to try it out.

So, Faye are you going to see Palin Monday, she will be at the Salem Civic Center? Let me know if you do i will go with you. Not to much longer and we will find out who will be running this wonderful country of ours. I sure wouldnt want that job. Especially with the shape it is in now. The Pres. gets blamed for everything!

Jolee, i wish i could help with your daughter. My oldest is only in 3rd grade so when she brings home a bad grade i dont let her play outside for a week and we study more. She whines....ALOT, but it works. Although i think she actually likes the study time (attention). Doing that with a teenager may be a little more difficult. But i will say i am learning from listening from ya'll. I think i am going to lose my mind, she has such an attitude now sometimes i cant imagine when she gets older to the point where she THINKS she is smarter than momma and i am not talking bookwise.

Faye Sowers (Crute)

Heck yeah Kristin I am seriously going to get tickets today if you wanna go let me know I will get you one or however many you want lets round up the folks and get the party started girl................heck if everyone jumps on the wagon I might just jump on the pole and sing karoke at the same time hip hip horay..........

10/23/08 10:27 AM #1009

Jolee Clarke (Preston)

Turbo~ I'm just glad to see you have your fire back. Bring me those tickets...I'll be sure to pass them along to the first non-registered voter I see! LOL! Love ya!

See you all at lunch!

Jolee-

That's so cool that our daughters are friends. Unfortunately, it'll be a while before they hang out outside of school b/c Madeline is soooo grounded due to her grades. She always does poorly one semester, loses priviledges, does well & gets them back, does poorly again, etc. So far she has lost her lifeline (aka cell phone) & she will be quitting the competition cheerleading squad. She's only an alternate so that's not a huge punishment but it's very time consuming. She'll still be on the sideline squad for now. Her mom & I may come up with other punishments but are taking some time to cool down. Like others have said about their children on this forum, if she was trying hard that would be one thing but it's apparent that she isn't. I have my girls two nights a week and every other weekend & always ask about homework, offer to review for tests, etc., but when she claims to get it all done in study hall what can you do? I give her a lot of freedom to take responsibility for her grades and when she doesn't she has to live with the consequences.

Wow, that's the most I've ever written on this forum. Sorry, but I'm very passionate about my girls & needed to vent!

Going for a walk outside to cool down. GT out!

Kristen Witt (Bray)

Okay, I am confused. This thing with Kelly and her signs, was this a Homecoming weekend joke or was there a posting that I just don't remember reading? Anyhow, could someone please fill me in on this? :) :) :)

Stef --- I heard that Kim Kardasian has an incredible pole dancing DVD out. Her mom even makes an appearance with her secret moves. You may want to review it before the girls slumber party. :) (By the way, Kim K. and I aren't exactly the best of friends anymore. She is getting way too involved with Reggie Bush and spending ALL of her time with him. I am so glad that you and Ricky spend time away from each other. I think that it makes a relationship more healthy when you are with your friends some.)

Susie --- I hate it that we didn't get to spend time with each other this past weekend. But, if you come in for Christmas, then hopefully we can see each other then. I would LOVE for you to move back home. But, ultimately, I just want you to be happy. You know that is the way that I have felt for a long, long time. :)

So, where did Stacey go? Did she just pop on and then pop off? How can she tease us like this?!??!?!?!?!

Greg --- it sounds like you are the man! I don't think that there is a posting yet that doesn't include you.

Faye that would be cool if you could pick me up a ticket, 2 would be even better! Thanks!

GT~
Every word you said has been in my conversations with Kenzie as well. "I get it done in study hall" must be the excuse of choice. Hell, I am a professor and my kid made bad grades!! I have always said that Kenzie gets A's and B's with a 75% effort, but this is NO effort being put forth. She and Madeline are in the SAME Spanish class!!!I showed Kenzie how hot you are in your profile pics, told her not to mention how many times "Uncle Anders" name came up in the conversation, and to try to understand our anger. She rolled her eyes. It did then hit her that....OHHHH...he's the one you did a u-turn in the middle of the road to go back and see....um, yeah, that is Madeline's dad...ha ha.

If you walk about 2 blocks, you can come up to the college and we can REALLY vent!

10/23/08 11:00 AM #1014

Kristin Fisher (Rush)

Faye, a site on the website states that they will not be handing out tickets until Friday and that they go really fast.... so if you are able to get them today thats cool.

Trina Schossow (Folden)

You go Erik!! Let me tell you it is refreshing to hear your passion about your girls. My husband LOVES our kids more than anything, but doesn't get into the homework stuff much with our 5th grader. I travel a lot this time of year, so we struggle a bit...you keep being you!!
