Hey Jolee~The survey works great. Thank you! Faye & I are not crazy though. After I asked Chris he went back & edited "IMO" to "In my opinion".

I saw Todd Selkirk Friday night...he's a ghost reader...sorry Todd, but you did say you would post something...
Anyway, I managed to sell him a shirt! Folks...if you want your shirt and have not contacted me, you better do so now...I have started selling ones that are supposed to belong to people! It is first come first serve!

Amy Wilhelm (McGuirt)

Carla~ do you happen to have any t-shirts left?? If so, what size and how much??

11/10/08 10:49 PM #1220

Carla Boyd (McCabe)

Amy...I have 1 large and 2 medium t-shirts leftover. They are $8...if I mail it let's say $10 so it covers postage. Let me know if I should set one aside for you.
(There are still some sweatshirts too)

To those of you who have served in our military or are currently serving our country, THANK YOU! Thank you for the freedom we have every day. Happy Veterans Day!

Kristen Witt (Bray)

To those of you who are considering getting a t-shirt, I have some advice. I got a t-shirt because I can wear it all seasons. Besides obviously wearing it during the spring and summer months, I can also put a long sleeve shirt underneath the t-shirt and still wear it during the cooler months. I have worn it so much already, so I am definitely getting my money's worth out of it. Just a thought!

Happy Veterans Day! Thank you to all that have served. I just also wanted to tell you that you can have the Virginia state flag or USA flag flown at the capitol in someone's honor (or in memory of) on any day and then they will send the flag to that person. Please don't say anything, but I am doing this for my dad. He was in the military (even though the person does NOT have to serve in the military to have a flag flown in their honor), and so I decided to have the USA flag flown in his honor on Dec. 1st for his birthday. They are sending him a certificate and the flag after they do the formal process of folding the flag. It is a great idea for those of you who are trying to figure out a gift for someone who has EVERYTHING. If you are interested, let me know and I will email you the website.

Carla~ I would love a med. t-shirt. I'll mail your ck tomorrow! Thanks!
Faye~ I second that... a big THANK YOU to all of you who have served!!!!

Shannon Davis (Nuckolls)

Thank you NHS Veterans! I have deep respect for you.

Kristen~That is really special about the flag flown in honor of someone. Your dad will be surprised. I'd like that info. too. My email is: sdnuckolls@yahoo.com Can you & Vicky come down to Raleigh in January?

Girls~The Embassy Suites at Crabtree Mall has been updated in '07 with new furniture in the rooms/bathrooms. It is as pictured on the website for Crabtree location. I called to make sure. (That's why I had said earlier I preferred the Cary location b/c it was a little more upscale in the suites.) Also, at Crabtree it is across from the one of the malls, PF Changs, & The Cheesecake Factory. As well, it is a straight shot to downtown Raleigh from there. Which would be handy for going out at night.

Thanks Tim.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all of our Veterans.

Shannon sounds like the place to me......is it walking distance from downtown so we don't have to worry about driving or is it too far? The plan is forming..........sounds great

I eaten at the Hibernian. It was a while ago, but it was a fun place to eat. There also used to be a Tapas bar a little bit down from there, but I think maybe it closed. I also recommend the Fox and the Hound. I enjoyed their food. I was not too much for the nightlife in Raleigh but those are all place I remember going to.

Vicky Lakes (Fuller)

Sorry Shannon, I won't be heading South anytime soon unless it's on a plane to Florida. Count me out.

Kristen WB - We still on for the 22nd? You pick the restaurant. You can email me at work...I was one of the lucky ones that didn't get laid off last week.

To all our classmates, and relatives of such that have served or are still serving in our military, a huge THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO...many Americans have no idea what you go through on a daily basis being separated from your friends and family doing what you're told to do whether or not you want to be there or not. Because of you we all sleep well at night, can speak our minds, and can worship when and where we want. :)

Greg Terry

Hello everybody. Man the film industry has been busy. We had to stop production on the Sarah Palin film. Stupid restraining orders!

Stef - I have your stuff and the bottle of vodka you requested. I did lose a couple of your shoe strings though. We'll go shopping and I'll replace them for you. I'm sure we can get some pretty good deals the day after Thanksgiving.

Jolee & Shannon - I filled out the survey for girls weekend. Just in case you ladies change your mind. :-)

Carla - I'm still in for the XL hoodie unless someone else wants it or you have sold it already. Just let me know and we'll set something up for me to get you the money if you still have it.

Hope all of my fellow Veterans had a great veterans day yesterday!

11/12/08 11:35 PM #1233

Susan Jones (Badger)

I hope everyone had a great Veteran's Day and said thanks to a military member!

Scott P thanks so much for what you are doing and all of the other Class of 88 members out there..

It's different on days like yesterday living in a military community, having friends in the military, and students that I teach that their parents, uncles, aunts, brothers, sisters etc are in Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. I couldn't even finish watching the Youtubes that have been posted.

The good news, my friend and hopefully future significant other is ON HIS WAY HOME!!!!!!! He is leaving Iraq on November 20 (ironic the day since it's "my" day) and will arrive in the states on Saturday the 22nd. He's been in Iraq the last 18 months and is his 3rd tour in the last 3 years...He is in Central Baghdad and has some stories that will tear you up. I just listen. The one thing he told me that he is really looking forward to is when he comes home "he can walk down the street without worrying if someone is going to kill him" Just remember with the craziness of our everyday lives...OUR MILITARY in all of the dangerous places...

If any of you know Brian Bailey he is on a ship in the Mediterrean (SP??? sorry I'm a math teacher) on his way back as well. With all of that stuff going on in Georgia..Brian (Class of 89) was smack in the middle of it! Just keep everyone in your prayers!

Good night folks! :) See you over the holidays!

Vicky Lakes (Fuller)

Susie - Thanks for the 411 on Brian Bailey, I remember him, and didn't realize he was in the military.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that all works out and that your guy is finally home on the 22nd.

Vicky --- count me in on the 22nd. I need to make sure that Steve won't be out of town, but as of right now, the schedule is clear. Just let me know where you want to meet (I have a GPS system, so I can meet you anywhere) and what time is convenient. I usually eat anywhere from 5-6:30pm. Yeh!!!!!

Susie --- I will call you soon.

Hello everybody else!!!!! I hope that everyone is having a great week.

Carla Boyd (McCabe)

I am planning to be at Buffalo Wild Wings at Valleyview on Friday Nov.21 from 7pm until at least 8pm. Anyone wanting to pick up a shirt is welcome to meet me there and stick around for dinner/drinks. Feel free to come even if you don't need to pick up a shirt...
Try to let me know if you are coming. I will have all the shirts in my car! If you can't make it, just call me and set up another time to come to my house to pick up.992-5588.

Kristen WB, Let's try and meet somewhere around Exton in case I have to take my kids to my mother in laws. I'll check the food scene around there and find us a place. Talk to you soon.

Jolee Clarke (Preston)

Good to hear from you Marvin (aka "Corbin")...I think you need to divulge your offer that you emailed me to the rest of the class.....

11/14/08 03:40 PM #1239

Trina Schossow (Folden)

Happy Friday everyone! I hope all are doing well. I have to say I'm kind of glad that things were slow on the forum. I was afraid it was going to take me hours to catch up. I've been out of town for work and didn't have hardly any free time to keep up with posts. I headed to Grundy, VA next week, but am in town Monday and Tuesday if anyone wants to meet for lunch.

Susie, I do hope your "hope to be" man gets home soon. I know how stressful that is. My brother is retired Air Force, but is working as a contractor and just got back last month. We are heading out to see him over Thanksgiving. This is his second tour (do you call it a tour if he isn't active service?) in two years, each for 7 to 10 months. He loves what he does and wouldn't do anything else, so the family just gets used to it.

Hey Marvin, welcome to the forum.

Jolee, you need to come clean girl. What offer?!?!?!

Shannon/Girls, going to do what I can to make the Raleigh trip. Am going to complete the survey here in a minute.

Vick, Jess' senior picture is awesome. She is beautiful! Can you lock her in the house 24/7?!?!

Kelly, How's the new job??

Have a great weekend all...

Okay, I apologize if this is not the proper place to do this, but....

We have 2 tickets to the VA. Tech vs. Duke game at 5:30pm on Saturday, November 22nd. We are selling the 2 tickets, which are on the 25 yd line, at face value (total $88.00) and Steve will even throw in his Silver Hokie Parking Pass only for the person who buys the tickets. (Please don't notify me for just the pass. It goes with the tickets!) If anyone is interested in the tickets, please let me know asap by emailing me at kristensclan@yahoo.com. I check my email on a regular basis. I will need to have payment before sending the tickets, so please allow enough time.
