Amy Beale (Craft)

Jolee- please take care of yourself! You are a strong woman but you are still human. You are no good to anyone especially your mom if you run yourself down. Do take time for yourself. I am thinking of you and your family and saying prayers.

Susan and Faye- I will not be able to go to Greensboro until Sunday due to trick or treating on Saturday night and babysitters will be in VA Beach helping my sister move. I will be there on Sunday afternoon, hopefully around lunch. More info later on time. I am staying at the Four Season Hotel/ Koury Center.

Susan- I went your way yesterday and today. I had a training in Statesville, NC and went through Greensboro, Kernersville and all stops in between.

Vicky- will look forward to your visit.Let me know to put it on the calendar for my babysitters.

FMLA applied for as of this afternoon...do they provide palm trees and floats? We brought Mom home today...but only on the promise that we kept a close watch on her...I don't think that has been a problem yet. I feel horrible leaving my position at the college and needing someone to fill my classes...but you all are right...Mom comes first!

Have a great weekend all!

Jolee, you know good and well that if one of your co-workers was in your shoes you'd be the first one to help them out and take over their classes etc. Don't feel bad for doing the right thing. I am sure all that know you are on your side.

Faye,

Once again, thank you for mom's 25 lb goodie basket. She LOVED all the lotions and smelly stuff. We are still adjusting slowly but that was incredibly sweet...I expected nothing less from my CID girl!

Jolee as soon as I am feeling better I am going to bake for you all sorry could not add homemade goodies to the basket but will get you those the next time. Wanted to give mom something that would make her feel better hope it comes in handy....hugs hugs to you all. I will catch up with you soon I feel like baking time is coming soon!!!!

Faye~

No need to bake...Mom can't eat any solid foods. Her tongue is so swollen from the surgery you couldn't fit a toothbrush in there. Besides, she has her little feeding tube that we put her Ensure in 3 times per day. She hasn't eaten solid food since her original diagnosis 3 years ago. But I know you are the sweetest friend in the world and I want you to know how much I appreciate you!

Good Twin~ The joke in Johnny's family is that he was the only "white" "Preston" in his class. The "other" Mr. Preston called my mother in law to tell him that he had received your card and your wonderful gift card. Johnny went and picked it up. The other Mr. Preston said that sure was sweet! We agreed and plan to use it this week after I leave mom's one evening! Xoxoxo!

Have been to Vegas twice. Once to see Celine Dion and we stayed at Caesars Palace. The second time we stayed at the Luxor..or the pyramid. Caesars Palace or the Belagio is the way to go. The rooms are all competitive. Caesars has a HUGE underground mall...and you could spend days in it. I would LOVE to go...LOVE to go. but now is not the time...

Vicky...I haven't laughed that hard in a long time, thanks for the fun day out. It was a nice break to a very long enrollment. Heading to Elkins, WV on Sunday, let me know if there is a mid-point on this one!

Jolee...hang in there girl and know we are all sending you prayers and positive thoughts.

Faye...Happy Birthday girl! Hope you had a great day!

Vegas Trip...let's see - on the strip I've stayed at Luxor, Exclaibor, Ceasar's, and Circus Circus...have done the tourist thing at Belagio, Mandalay Bay, Paris, Aladdin, MGM, and New York, New York. Love every single one of them for different reasons. Don't try to be cheap and stay off the strip...have done that too, and it isn't the same. If ya'll get a trip together make sure to do Freemont Street one night...SO MUCH FUN! In case anyone was wondering, I do not have a secret family in Vegas - my brother was stationed at Nellis AFB in North Vegas for the last 12 years (still lives there), and before that it was our flight stop for visiting my grandparents every year since I was about 8.

Faye- yes still heading to Greensboro on Sunday. I told Susan that we probably would not be there until 3:30 at latest.
Vegas- been there twice stayed at the Excalibur and MGM. Would be there this week if not for all these conferences. Work interupts my fun and social life. Oh, bother!

Vicky- hope you all get good news from App State!!

Ok, I can only imagine the trouble I'd get into if we all did a Vegas trip together...dag the waiter that carded Trina and I at Uno's wanted to make sure we could walk to the theater...hello, only had two..lol..wait, maybe he was hitting on us...so out of practice.. too funny.

Good to see the forum with some activity again! :) Vegas is great for a 2-3 day visit, but more than that would be tough to handle. It is great just to see the ridiculousness of it all. A friend of mine believes that the excess of Vegas is proof that the world is coming to an end. =:)

Faye,
Mandalay Bay in Vegas is the bomb!

For those of you who went to Mountain View...Mrs. Reynolds (librarian) died suddenly Friday. It's in the paper...just thought I'd mention it...

Kristy sorry for your loss, it is tough to realize that our parents are not going to be here forever......I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Hope everyone is getting ready for a special turkey day with friends/family...............

Susan Jones (Badger)

Kristy,

I just read your message and had not heard about your mom. I am so sorry for your loss and yes "great mom" does not describe the person she was. Thoughts and prayers with all of you in this time of sadness. Remember Earth has no sorrow that heaven can not heal.

Kristen Witt (Bray)

Kristy:
I am sooooooooo terribly sorry for your loss. The way that you described your mother was the same way that I described mine. I loved my mom dearly and it broke my heart when she passed away. Please know that I feel your pain and my heart breaks for you. Just know that your NHS classmates are here for you and if you need ANYTHING, all you have to do is ask!!!! Love to you and your family. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers!

Trina Schossow (Folden)

Kristy,
So sorry...thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time.

Kristy...I am so sorry to learn of the loss of your mom. I have not logged on here in sometime. It seems that this year has been rough on a lot of the our NHS class. My dad passed away right after Christmas last year and we had his funeral on New Years Day. Your in my thoughts and prayers as well as the rest of our class that are going through great hardships.

Tim

Hi All~

I sent out an email notification about a Northside function the day after Thanksgiving at Blue5. Typically, the turnout for this has been great and I know a lot of people will be coming in for the holidays. Hope to see some of you all there!

Hope everyone is doing well and planning a wonderful Thanksgiving. I know I am MORE than thankful for my classmates who continue to hold me up when I just don't think I can stand anymore. The past 41 days have been nothing short of pure hell. Mom continues to have good days and bad days...and two weeks ago tomorrow, she tried to bleed out on me when her carotoid ruptured. My life belongs to taking care of Mom right now and I PLAN on going to Blue5 to see FRIENDS!!
