03/25/09 09:48 AM #13     Cathy Arrington (Sigmon) Kristi Burley and I met this past weekend to start brainstorming some ideas for the reunion. We thought we should come up with 3-4 scenarios and everyone votes on it. First, we need to come with some dates. Here are the dates so far, if you have a better one, please let us know: July 25th and 26th August 22nd and 23rd - Northside should have a home football game Friday, August 21st –waiting on the football coach to let me know September 5th and 6th – Labor Day weekend October 3rd and 4th or another weekend in September - We were trying to pick a weekend that a VA Tech did not have a home game but they have a home game for all other September weekends. Some of the ideas were for Saturday afternoon was as follows: -family picnic at Waldrond Park or at someone’s church -pool party at North Roanoke Swim Club or at Northlakes Swim Club At either venue, we would like to have lunch catered from Chick-fil-A or Zaxby’s and we would have several kids’ activities plus I thought we could get Dean Peroulas with his Hawaiian ice truck We thought for Saturday evening (Adults only) we could find a venue and have a DJ, cocktail and heavy appetizers. Some of the venues were the Winston Link (located downtown) and Sunnybrook (located on Plantation Road) – I think the best one would be Sunnybrook because they have their own catering which is called Plantation Creations and this place is central to everything else. Listed below is what needs to be done ASAP: -pick a date -form a committee to help with planning -need to find someone who is in the banking business to open a checking account for the reunion – this person would also be responsible for writing the checks and collecting money -need to find prices for the different venues Please give us your thoughts!! Any input is welcome! Please let me know if you are interested in being on the committee and let me know what date is good for you! We need any help we can get!!

03/25/09 10:23 PM #14     Courtney Bowman (Sink) Cathy and Kristi, I will not be able to do it on August 22nd my sister is getting married that weekend. I would love to see it done July 25 and 26th or in September. Because the weather will be nice. I would like to see use get all the families together and have it a Walrond Park that would be nice kids can play and have a good time. We can also have an adults night out. I know that the Classes of 84-88 are stilling getting together. Maybe the ones who would like together once every few months to keep in touch that would be great. I would like to help if you need me. Let me know. Thank you both for doing this to get things started.

I know we need to set a date but I do not want to be the one to set it....I am just so busy right now with my 18 year old play softball for Northside and getting her ready for graduation plus my other 2 is playing baseball.

He is handicapped and doesn't do well on long car rides. I would really like to see you all and hate that I will miss it. My family and I will be in Roanoke July 16th - 21st and would love to meet up with whoever is available. If anyone is interested in getting a group together, let me know what your schedules are like and we can try to plan something. Hope to see some of you! Enjoy the reunion and post some pictures!

I would like to see us have an adult night one weekend before august. I am sorry I will not be attending.

07/09/09 08:26 AM #30     Lisa Medina (Erazo) I really want to come, I think it will be fun. We just got together with some of my husbands classmates from Puerto Rico / in Puerto Rico. It was fun but I couldn't understand what anyone was saying, talk about sitting around while your spouse is visiting everyone. I was at the kiddie table most the time. Anyway, I think it will be nice in the fall, but like everyone else, my kids will be in sports etc. so hopefully we can work it out, I am going to try to make it a priority.

10/13/09 09:03 AM #34     Pamela Pierce (Guthrie) Hey there everyone....It was great to see so many faces on friday...the game was really good and we had a big crowd,,,the after party was great too...I am very glad to have seen everyone and to get to spend some time. Seems like everyone is doing very good and looks great. What a great job the gals who created the reunion did ..thank you all so very much for having this happen for us Maybe a 25 yr reunion is next???? :)
