I remember Barry very well. He was a happy go lucky gifted musician with brown eyes and sandy hair who chose the Bari Saxaphone for his primary instrument. I remember us playing bop tunes together in the music room. He was looking forward to living with his dad in Puerto Rico and playing with the band at the Hilton. I heard years later that he passed on there but I never heard the details. Barry had an enthusiastic spirit of adventure, I hope he lived some happy days as a musician after all. I still think about him now and then and remember that he was one of the truly gifted musicians at Robbinsdale. A star that fell too soon but showered me with grace and friendship. Cool guy.

I also have fond memories of Barry. We were students at Oak Grove Elementary. Barry always had a big smile, and a clown like personality. I have our sixth grade year book. I think our teacher, Mr Embertson had asked us to write down one wish and what we wanted to be when we grew up. Barry wrote: "I wish I had a plane because when I grow up, I'm going to be a scientist forestor or a professional Boy Scout."
