Seems that I was just laughing and talking with Glenn at our 50th. I would always kid him about that barely perceptible scar on his chin. I knew the history -- a great catch of a thrown football, and then that tree in the way. At Forest School. Those were long, warm, and green days, always full of life. He was a neighborhood chum, and the Mellings had that very impressive house on Douglas Drive. Jim Love, was I there, or did you tell me about that particular day of throw and catch? We grew up and now I am far away on the west side of the Rockies. I will miss Glenn.

Glenn and I had a fun chat catching up on 50 years at the Reunion.  He was telling me about all their activities and looked so good. My deepest sympathy to his wife and family.

Its been over a month since Glenn left us and I continue to think about our time together.  We were friends from grade school at Forest where Glenns mother taught kindergarden.  We were always competitive in sports and played against each other in 6th grade.  Then it was Teen club at Forest school, the Malt shop where we hung out together.  Glenn would pick me up in his mothers Yellow 58 Ford 4 door with a big 6 cylinder engine.  The Malt Shop was across from Forest School. As soon as we had a enough guys we went across the street to play football.  Glenn always wore sunglasses.  We decided that should be our look.  Then someone said you guys look like Charlie the Tuna.  For a while we both were Tuna's then Glenn started to call me Tuna and the nick name has stuck to this day.  We added the Tuna chicks Donna Huey, Diane Olson & Sandy Cayo.  We then created the Tuna poem and the Tuna Hand shake.  We thought we were very cool  .From the Malt shop to Chubbs ballroom and Ryans on Bass lake riding in that yellow Ford.. After high school we both served in the Military.  After the service we reconnected at the North Star bar in the Chalet across from Robbinsdale high school.  We played on a bar league football team for the Chalet.  Glenns brother-in-law Dick, and a good friend of mine, played on the team as well.  The North Star became our Malt Shop. We spent several years there before getting married and going our own way.  We reconnected at every class reunion as we did at the 50th.  I never would have guessed that would be the last time we would see each other.  Glenn left us too soon as did Dick and several others from our class.  I won't forget Glenn and many good times we shared.  My condolence to Marilyn and their Daughters.  May God Bless you.....Tuna
