Obituary read: Vicki Duffy (nee Wahrer) age 57 of Coon Rapids passed away 7/3/04 after a courageous battle with COPD and emphysema. Preceeded in death by parents, Steve and Marianna, brother Steve "Gary". (Steve was a band member of the Trashmen.) She was a 1964 RHS graduate, and devoted her life to her children, and grandchildren, pets and Mickey Mouse.
I remember in typing class, Vicki and I had a terrible time with our typing teacher. Her name was something like Ms. Kjourlog (spelling). When typing we were not to look at the keyboard. We couldn't help looking, and the teacher would hit our hands with a ruler. We had lots of laughs in typing class. Needless to say we both mastered typing.
I was in her wedding when she married Tom Collins and we remained friends until her death. I wouldn't hear from her for ages and the phone would ring and it would be Vic announcing that the Trashman would be playing at so and so place and did I want to go. Being her friend I got to go to the Trashman parties but because she was Steve's little sister we could only stay until 10:00. It was great fun. She was always there when you needed her. Her whole family were just nice people and I spent a lot of time with them during and after high school. She is missed greatly!
