Jeff S. French

Following graduation I joined the Navy where I served 6 years as a hospital corpsman/operating room technician. I met my wife in the Chicago area while in the Navy. We married in 1981 and this year we marked our 35th anniversary. We lived in the Chicago area until 1998. At that time we moved to assist family in the Indianapolis area who were going through severe health issues. We've lived there since.

My gorgeous wife is a therapist- addictions, family counseling, marriage counseling etc. She has a private practice in the Indianapolis area. Because of her skills we've been asked to serve several missions for our church. Previous missions were in the local Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois areas. 2012-2013 found us in Manila, Philippines supporting young missionaries and leadership for our church there. We were in the Philippines during Typhoon Haiyan (locally called Yolanda) and saw the devastation nature can cause. Currently we are serving in Johannesburg, South Africa. We are again doing the same type of thing that we did in the Philippines. We do travel as she is called on to train and teach.

I graduated from college in 2010 (better late than never). I have battled cancer and am still one up. I enjoy meeting people and do so on a daily basis. I have been blessed with an incredible life of which I cannot complain!

I was fortunate not to be pigeon holed into one group social group. I played sports (room was made for me on Stud Bench when I chose to do so), was in theater and was involved in a few clubs- AFS being one of them. I was able to do a "domestic exchange" to Southern California 2nd semester, junior year.

Not bad for a kid coming from the small town of Hammond where the population was a third of the size of our graduating class!
