Cindy,

You continue to amaze me!!!!!!!!! Sorry that I didn't get to see you when you were in Rock Falls for your mom's birthday. Jim and I were in northern Wisconsin with friends enjoying (?) snowmobile races.

Only 18 months until the next reunion . . . please be sure that Cindy or I have your current contact information! Can you believe that it will be 45 years since we departed from RFHS? How could the time have past so quickly?!

Just thought I would let everyone know that Cindy Hagberg McDonald lost her husband to cancer on April 16th.  He was diagnosed almost a year ago and put up a brave fight.  Please remember Cindy at this difficult time in her life.

So sad to realize that 33 of our classmates have passed away. Dave Wescott is the

most recent. I hope everyone is in good health and sending best wishes to all.

It's time to start planning the next reunion.  Who wants to work on it?  When and where would you like to see the main event?  Any ideas for new activities?

I'm willing to help but 2011 is going to be an extremely hectic year for me with President Reagan's Centennial celebrations lasting from Feb. 6, 2011 until February 6, 2012.

Sorry to hear about your husband Cindy.  I hope that you are finding your way.  I was also saddened to hear about Dave Wescott.  Hard to believe that we have been out of high school for 45 years.  Most of us have grandchildren in high school now and some may even have great grandchildren.  We should have listened to our parents when they told us that time passes to  quickly!

I am working on the class roster so if you have updates or know of others not on the website who have changes, please let me know.

Our reunion will be next summer!  I think sometime in July and will post really soon.

Hope eveyone is enjoying Fall.

I am sorry my wife and I could not attend the 45th reunion. I promise, Lord willing, that we'll make the 50th. I would be willing to assist on plans locally for the 50th reunion. Just let me know how I could help. How about in spring or fall, when the weather is LESS HOT here?

Anyone ever thought about a location away from Illinois? Maybe Colorado, to the west or Kentucky, W. Virginia or N. Carolina to the east?  Perhaps some of our classmates away from Illinois might like one of these locations? Just a thought.

My wife and I are going to be Great-Grandparents. One of our granddaughters is expecting and due Feb. 21st. She found out that she's having a girl, she's naming her Rielly Kristina. We are beaming and filled with joy!

Just received word that Susan Weaver Havener's husband, Bruce Havener, passed away yesterday, January 19.  He had been battling cancer for about 5 years.  I'm sure she would appreciate receiving cards. Her address is: 4398 South Coors Ct., Morrison, CO 80465

Good morning.  There was a message from Cindy last evening about our classmate Cecil Wade.  A great honor was finally given to him at Scott AFB on Friday night.   I went on the internent and found another story and interview with Cecil and his wife Kriste.  You can find the story with "Vietnam Vet gets medal at Scott AFB".  Your story Cecil is amazing and we are grateful to you for your service.  Your family must be proud of you  to finally receive these deserved three medals.  We thank you for your service.

Wishing everyone a great spring--  We will all enjoy a great weekend when see our classmates and "friends we have known the longest" at our 50th reunion in September!   See you then.

Again,  Congratulations for your honors given to you Cecil that you earned so long ago.

Thanks Cindy for writing here!  I hope you are enjoying your new home in Florida.    Facebook is great but not everyone is on it, so this is a good way to communicate.  Our 50 year reunion last September was sure fun!

The Facebook postings:    THE ROCK FALLS PROJECT   have been amazing!  The daily postings of the many activites and celebrations in Rock Falls during the 150 year celebration were fun to watch.  The concluding fireworks from Lawrence Park on Saturday night were just great as they reflected over the beautiful Rock River.  They were sure fun to watch!  Thanks to the people of Rock Falls that filmed everything and shared on Facebook.   Rock Falls is a great community which continues to improve and grow.  Check out all the various videos on Facebook when you have some free time.

Enjoy a great August and fall season 2017.

Going thru are Deceased Members "IN Memory" I counted 71 of Our Fellow Classmates who have gone before us. I just today, October 2, 2023 just got back from Gettysburg with My Vietnam Company, sort of celebrating 55 Years back from Vietnam (Sept '68-Sept'69).... All of my Service Platton are now passed excepy for Myself and One  more...There was 13-14 of us all at one time. Agent Orange got most of us one way or another.....Most all of us have some health issues. so.... this Sunday we should take care of that in Our Prayers to the Almighty.

Take Care All,

Would like to tell all of Our Veterans out there that they should sign up for a Honor Flight to Washington DC . I cost NOTHING and is for all Veterans from WWII thru Vietnams and will be working on Gulf War Vets in the near future Every Vet has a Guardian to be with you the entire trip, If your Disabled, they will take you in a Wheel Chair, That's also what your Guardian is there foir.... Go to a "Honor Flight" Search in your area to get started... i can't do as much as I use to with Vets as I did in the Past. But I stay in volved with the Legion (Past Cmmander), (Still in Honor Guard at the Legion when I can make it). and VFW, DAV is real good also.

   Best Regards to All,
