A fellow classmate shared this information and I called this morning and confirmed that Linda  Hunter Carroll Helms is staying at the Magnolia Manor in Rock Hill. She has finally been located! I asked to speak to Linda and was given a phone number to a cordless phone that is on the floor where she is staying. It appeared to be in use by someone else. I will try to get by there this week and see her. If you visit Linda please give us an update on her condition. I asked and was told she can receive visitors. 

David may be staying with relatives in the Marshville/Monroe area but we are not sure. Hopefully, Linda can let us know more.

Are you on FB? Many classmates posted on FB after Gayle shared the news there. I can tell you that a number of classmates have logged in to this site in the last few days. If they do not post something, it does not mean they do not care. I did not know Chris well but he seemed like a nice person in school. I am sorry for your loss of a good friend. I am waiting to see the obituary so we can post it. If you see it, let me know or post it here.

Thanks, Rebecca, for checking the paper for Chris' obit.  I have been checking on line several times a day and have seen nothing.  I thought maybe he was brought back to Rock Hill to be buried and I checked Herald On Line as well. There is nothing. Perhaps the family opted for a private ceremony and no public notification.  We will find out one way or the other.

Perhaps Chris was cremated or had an autopsy and the family is waiting on his remains to return to them before having a funeral or memorial service. That usually delays things.

Chris Brumfield did pass away but his son had a severe stroke and  they are waiting until he can sit up in a wheelchair beore they will have the funeral.  Tom Parrish

Thank you Dee Raymes for visiting with Linda Hunter Carrol Helms yesterday.

Dee reports that she had a good visit with Linda who actually was at Piedmont Medical. However, Linda said she is scheduled to return to Magnolia Manor on Monday 2/12. As you can imagine, Linda does not want to be there. Linda Black came by for a visit too. Dee heard a preacher had stopped by the MM but we are not sure if that was one of our classmates. One thing for sure is that Linda needs us to reach out to her at this time. Keep her in your prayers. There are no other details at this time but if you visit please post something here or email me and I will pass along the news. Thanks again Dee.

Becky, I was at the hospital all day today with Linda Hunter Helms and she was dismissed this evening to Pruitt Nursing home.  She will remain there for therapy and evaluation to see if she is able to take care of herself.  Things do not look well at this time but we need to pray that God will intervine on her behalf.  I am related to Linda and have taken on the responsibility of seeing that she is taken care of as much as possible.  I will keep everyone posted on her behalf.

Okay, Diane just left a message that Linda is indeed at Pruitt Nursing on Herlong in room 117. Diane has been with her all day. Visitors are appreciated. Linda will be there for a while is my understanding.

David, not sure why she could not be located when you were there. Hopefully you will be able to see her another time.

Thank you to all those who have visited with Linda Hunter Carroll Helms these past few weeks or sent cards. It is my understanding, based on two reports from former classmates who have spoken with Linda, that David Helms died last Thursday at their home in Longs, SC. There are no other details. Linda remains at the Pruitt Nursing Facility. Our sympathies and prayers go out to Linda at this difficult time.
