Barbara, I hate you had to go through all this . You have certainly had  a difficult time of it. Ed was special and will be missed by many, and you are loved by many. I wish you peace in the coming weeks.

We are so sorry to hear of your loss.  If there is anything we can do, please let us know.  We are only a phone call away.  We both have so enjoyed working on the reunions with you.  We love you.

My wife, Mary Jayne, and I live at the beach also.  We had no damage at all.  We live in Myrtle Beach.  We packed up and went to Rock Hill with our son.  We did get to enjoy our Great-Grandson so much.  We did not get even a shingle blown off.  God is Good.

Barbara, I am sorry to hear about Ed's passing and all the trials you've experienced. Stay strong. As Daniel said we're a phone call and a short drive from Murrells Inlet if you need anything.

Barbara, Ira and I were so sad to hear about Ed’s death. I’m very sorry we didn’t know he was so ill and had to be medically evacuated during the hurricane. We live in Easley about 2 miles from the hospital and would’ve loved for you to stay in our home. You will be in our hearts and prayers as you begin to face life without Ed. May God provide for all your needs, wisdom as you make tough decisions, and strength to move on.

Sammy - thank you so much for the kind words.  Wish I had known or remembered you were that close.  The hospital was actually very good and all were very kind and compassionate.

Barbara, I periodically check in to the website and was saddened this morning to learn of your loss. As others have expressed, I wish Nancy and I were closer to  be available to help in any way possible. You’ll definitely be in our prayers.

Barbara, my sympathies to you on Ed's death. I  know this is a difficult time. I am sure you will agree with me that our class is a very caring group. I am touched by all the postings in support of you and fellow classmates. Thank you all for logging in to our website to share what is going on in your lives: good, bad, happy or sad.

I am on FB too as well as many of you. I enjoy connecting there as well as here with fellow classmates. Some classmates post only on FB and some are not on FB at all but log into our class website to see updates. I try to transfer when possible any news that appears on FB to our website but it sometimes is a challenge for one person. I encourage you all to post in the message forum any news from FB that you think we need to know about as it relates to our fellow classmates. All you have to do is cut and past text and/or photos!

Thanks!

Becky

Happy birthday to my partner, Kay Manning Elrod who is instrumental in managing the day to day operations of our website. She is so modest and avoids getting any attention for all that she does for you, our fellow classmates. She is sentimental about our nostalgic Bearcat days and cares about each of you. It is important to her to keep the communications going and keep you engaged with one another. During challenging times such as hurricanes and other life events she reaches out to check on you to make sure you are okay and shares that so everyone knows. Thank you Kay for all you do for our class, for me, and our website. Have a wonderful birthday! (She will be annoyed with me for  posting this but I am doing it anyway! LOL!)

Becky

Thank you, Becky.  You are much too kind!  So far, 70 is feeling pretty good. There is no hiding our age around these people - we are all the same age give or take a year or two. We are all facing new challenges ahead. One of my most recent challenges is looking ahead not with hindsight but with foresight.  We must consider our age and ability as it will be going forward and not what it was when we were planning our retirement a few years ago. Things change quickly.  Another challenge I've discovered is what to wear on the beach. My friend said this was the last year for her in a bathing suit.  We decided we need something that covers the shoulders down to the ankles, but looks youthful and cute.  Any suggestions?      I wonder if this comes in yellow?

Good luck to all in whatever challenges you are facing.

Thank you Dee.  You also have been a joy to get to know. Thanks for your help and financial wisdom.

Thank you everybody for your wonderful birthday wishes.  You all are blessings and I'm so thankful we are all still together at least in spirit of the old RHHS days.  You all have a great year ahead also!
