When I have lots to do, I quote Robert Frost and say, “The woods are lovely, dark and deep but I have promises to keep.  And miles to go before I sleep.  And miles to go before I sleep.”   Of course, now that I am retired, I can say, most times, “That’s enough for today.  I’ll continue tomorrow.”

Two  of my favorite quote which I try to live by:

I have only two kind of days: A good day or a great day!

I don't need to make you look bad to make me look good!

I also have two quotes.

"The Lord bless you and keep you; the Loard make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace" Numbers 6 22-27.

" Speak softly and carry a big stick" Teddy Roosevelt. (My big stick is a Kimber 45 ACP).

Wayne, my husband has a big stick too - a mop handle he carries to the mailbox every dark morning to get the paper to ward off deer and coyotes. He might need something a little more substantial!

My quote falls under the category of college kids say the darnest things. When my son was starting out in college he was having a lot of fun, playing basketball and not studying very hard. When grades came out he was just barely doing enough to graduate. We had our first discussion about grades. I said for crying out loud you are just doing the minimum; What do you have to say for yourself? He looked me in the eye, actually he is way taller than I am, and said "Dad if the minimum wasn't good enough it wouldn't be the minimum!" I laughed so hard I hurt. There was no way to keep a straight face. In fact he has changed me over the years. I have used that saying in many situations since. For those of you that didn't laugh out loud I guess you had to have been there.

Those are good, Cotton!  You pretty much have everything covered .

Another quote I love is from my son, Chris from when he was about 5. I'd been after him to hurry up and get something or another done and a few minutes later he came to me and said "momma, time goes faster than some people do!"

I thought that was a pretty good observation!

My Gastro Doctor always closes our visit with this benediction, "Eat more fiber. I'll see you again in a year and I will know if you ate more fiber."

Jimmy:  That's what who gets for living in town - us or the herd?

By the way - love Cotton's quotes!  Would you rather die from the #1 leading cause of death or the last one on the list?

Two of my favorites:

“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.”

And something my Mom always said: “I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck.”

It's not a quote, but something to think about and a reminder that Valentine's Day is just around the corner.  Aren't those commercials so annoying!!!

How about:   "Lake, I love you when you bring me chocolate!"

This one is frequently quoted at my house:  "Don't come home without the chocolate!"

A question for the girls?   Why do hairstylists think all women over 65 want the queen-cut.  No one ever accused the queen of being pretty.  At least Elizabeth has the luxury of hiding her hair under all those hats. Maybe that is their way of giving you the royal treatment.  Of course, curly hair styles itself whether you want it to or not.  Help!

Disclaimer: I would never wear this suit!  Photoshop image.
