Attended an Uncle's funeral this past Saturday. Afterwards my cousin and I were going through some of his stuff. Found this picture I had never seen, sadly all pictured are gone. My Dad on the left with his mule 'Red', my uncle on right with 'Ghost' and a aunt & uncle in middle. Can you see the bare feet?

All,

Here is some information about a reception in memory of John Hunter forwarded by his sister, Susan.

My brother, John R Hunter, was a member of RHHS class 1966.  Johnny passed away in Kill Devil Hills, NC on March 9, 2019.  Our family will be holding a drop-in reception in Rock Hill on April 14th, at my oldest brother, Jerry Hunter and Carol Anne Hunter’s home.  The time will be from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.  The address is 316 Quinby Way, Rock Hill SC  29732.  This is in Laurel Creek in the Augusta Place area.  I believe his obit was in The Herald on March 13 or 14.  I have trying to get a small items listed under the obits on April 13 for the reception in The Herald.  Would you place it on the Class of 1966 page. Thanks!   Susan Hunter Pelt

So Sorry to read about Johnny Hunter. I remember him walking in at the reunion as we were greeting at the door. Sorry also to read about Cathy's mom. Prayers for Johnny and Cathy's families.

Many of you have asked about Rocky. He was making a great recovery after breaking his neck on March 1st until last Friday. He started running fever and began to feel very weak. On Sunday , he was admitted to the hospital again with an infection. They are still treating him with antibiotics but the infection has not cleared. Hopefully tomorrow will bring good news and he will be home soon. Thank you for your messages and concern.

I was saddened hearing about Johnny. Met him in the fourth grade at Ebinport when I transfered from Ebenezer. I believe  we were in the same class the entire time at Ebinport. Johnny was a happy go lucky fellow , who was always fun to be around. At the reunion he came waltzing in, sat down with us,. took off his shoes and we talked about old times for a while before he wandered off to reaquaint with others he had not seen in years. Johnny and I played together on the Gray Y team. He was on defense. On a day when he was having a particularly great day at practice (he was running over or knocking down every one). Either Coach Edelman or Hope ( Bobby's dad) made the comment that Johnny was like a tank. Thus the tag "Tank" from that point onward. Johnny was a great guy and even greater friend. I tried severa  times to contact him, especially after the hurricane, but no response. R.I.P
