So sorry to hear this sad news. I knew Linda from Ebenezer Ave. Elementary all through high school. Tragic and sad.

Didn't know her well, but it sounds like she was special and loved by many. So sad.

I am sad to learn of Linda's tragic departure from this earth. Linda was a good friend from Ebenezer Avenue that had a positive impact on me due to her caring nature, her intelligence and her "campaigning" for John Kennedy in our classroom election. Unique memory, but she was passionate about "her" candidate for President. I have nothing but positive memories about her as a person and the smile she always seemed to have. I was proud to learn that she had gone in the ministry - to me it suited who she was so very well. Grace and Peace.

So sad to learn of Ronnie's passing. I knew him from being School Bus Drivers. He was friendly and fun to be around. A good guy that supported me and others with learning the ropes of maneuvering the big yellow machines. Grace and peace to his family.

Kay,

The image of self check out remnds me that I need to go back to Walmart and dispute a purchase.  I scanned a writing tablet and have to add that I was in a hurry to my next appointment, had my arms full trying to answer my phone all at the same time. Later I looked at my receipt and the tablet had rung up three times! I can only conclude that I scanned it three times? Lesson learned not to rush at self checkout or multitask.

Kay Manning (Elrod)

That's not good!  I'm always afraid that machine will take the bills and not give back the change. How often do you talk with the checkout person while checking out?  I sure will miss those conversations when they're gone.  Now, you have to reschedule more time in your busy day to make the return.

I went to the doctor yesterday (Atrium) and as soon as you enter the office there is a huge kiosk sitting in the middle of the floor. Now, it looks like a shadowy future for the front people at the doctor.  The world has become so impersonal. If there is any place that needs a little personal care, it would be the doctor.

The bowling - I was remembering how many fun times we had bowling on those Saturday night dates in high school.  At the beach we have often said we wished there was a bowling alley close by.  I miss that.

Kay, per your post about bowling. I don't know which beach you go to but there is a really nice bowling facility in North Myrtle Beach and the old Pappas Lanes on Park Road in Charlotte have been redone .That's where my son took his wife and girls for Mothers Day .😂

Kay Manning (Elrod)

Thanks, Linda!  I thought the Pappas Lanes had been torn down years ago. Good to know.  I have known people from the Oak Island area who have driven to N. Myrtle to bowl.  There might be one in Shallotte too, I don't know. I sure miss the old stuff - simple pleasures.

Kay, Thanks for asking about Rocky. His neck is healing fine but he has a lot of side effects from the three infections that put him back in the hospital the end of March. It made him very weak but he is now able to go back to physical therapy twice a week . He will have surgery on March 31 to remove a stent that was placed-between his bladder and kidney in March. He can't drive until the neck brace comes off in July so I am his Uber driver!! He is handling all of this so well because he knows he is very fortunate that he wasn't paralyzed when he fell. Sorry I haven't posted sooner but helping him and doing my Grandmama duties doesn't leave a lot of time .  Yet Life Is Good:)

Susan: Thanks for responding. We are all concerned for Rocky. I did not know how serious his infections were in March!  Is there an address where we can send cards and good wishes to him? I know you must be exhausted. I am sure those of us who live nearby would be willing to help you and Rocky with transportation or other necessary duties when you have too much on your plate. Please let us know what we can do for ya'll. You both are also on my prayer list and have been since this all began.  I pray this all passes soon and he will have a full recovery!
