You are in my prayers also, Nancy.  May God give you special strength and wrap His arms around you with healing power.

Praying for you Nancy. You have a lot of people that are lifting up your name before God and ask him for his mercy and his healing will to be done.

Lifting you in prayers for your strength to return, and your healing complete and speedy.  I know this won't be easy, and you have to "stand up to it" and claim that victory as your own.

In 2011 the reunion committee raised funds offering a copy of this DVD for a donation. Your donations then helped create our class website. We have stayed connected thanks to your continued support through the years.

I was able to convert the DVD to an MP4 file which I am posting here. I do have extra copies of the DVD if you would like one..

This is just something I thought all of you old people would like to know. It saves a lot on your county taxes and you can get credit for some months back.

All persons who are over age 65 are eligible for a homestead exemption in an amount set by the General Assembly of South Carolina– Brandon C. Wilson, public information director

For more information, contact your county and municipal tax offices.

Hey, Joe. I do not see that it says, " All old persons who are over the age of 65....".  I am not old yet, just "mature"! ha. ha.

Thanks for sharing this information. We can all use a little extra money these days.

Becky

HEAT STROKE!! Yep, I had one on Monday 7/20. It was a learning experience for me and maybe you can learn from it, too. So the predicted heat index was 100 to 105F that day. So several good things - we started at 8:30 AM, only walking the first 9, had over 32 ounces of water. After 9 holes, my shirt & shorts were thoroughly soaked. Even though I was now riding in a cart, by the time I reached the 16th hole, my vision was being affected. Everything seemed very bright; I guess my eyes were dilated. I was determined to finish and then get in the cool. However, on the last hole, I passed out while driving the cart and the next thing a buddy was shaking me awake, my cart in the bushes! They took me to the clubhouse to get in the AC. They asked about 911 and I declined. I did get one of my buddies to drive me home. When Lynn saw me, she called 911. The EMTs took me to Atrium Pineville and gave me fluids. At the ER, more fluids and bloodwork. They were checking troponin levels, an enzyme that the heart is in stress. I had a reading of 64 & 85, low for someone having a heart attack but enough to stay overnight for monitoring. During the night, readings went to 217 & 235, still low for a heart attack. So the doctor scheduled an echocardiogram for in the morning. Also, my EKGs, blood pressure were normal and I had no chest pain. After the echocardiogram came back as normal and a new blood test showed that the troponin was dropping, they determined that I had experienced a heat stroke and could go home.
Things to learn - take the heat warnings seriously, drink plenty of liquids, and most of all, listen to your wife when she tells you are crazy for playing on a day like Monday. Remember the saying, β€œonly mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the noonday sun.” The doctor actually put in my orders on being released that I needed to listen to Lynn. Things could have turned out much worse. I hope this helps someone. I plan to do better in the future!

Glad you are OK, Dennis. As a golfer I can relate to that. It's hard to stay hydrated on a day like that. Stay cool.

Judy was a wonderful person, kind and generous.  She will be missed.  So sorry for the family's loss.I had not seen her in years (live in VA now), but she came to my father's funeral in Rock Hill eight years ago.  That meant so much to me.

The hurricane made landfall just a short distance down the road from Oak Island.  It must have been at high tide because the surge displaced cars and appliances all up and down Beach Road. What a mess! This is a drone video of the scene today.

Thanks for sharing this fascinating view. Hopefully no lives were lost. Still catching up on the news and updates. Thanks for keeping us posted. Was anyone else impacted by Isaias? What about those of you in SC, Charleston, etc.

Rebecca Littlefield (Jones)

All good in Charleston.  This was the storm that never was fortunately for us; but, oh so sad

for coastal areas north especially Ocean Isle, Southport Marina!

08/04/20 04:35 PM #1657

Kay Manning (Elrod)

Rebecca & Becky, Southport took a hard hit. There are a few videos of the destruction but the police have the water front blocked off because they say it is unsafe. Water is so powerful! They say the marina mess was caused by storm surge and not wind.

We dodged the bullet in North Myrtle Beach.  About 4 hours of wind and rain but no damage.  Power was out for couple thousand people but it was restored quickly.  We had no power outage at our house.

Ruth, so glad you and Rebecca had no damage!  You've had enough in the past.
