Ernie and Laura, my sincere condolences in the death of your son, Mike.  The loss of a child is unbearable.  May God give you the strength as you journey through this loss.  There is no expiration date on grief.  Find comfort in your memories.

We have learned that Rickey Folsom's brother, Frankie passed away in March. Sympathies to the Folsom Family and those classmates who knew Frankie.

My friends and classmates, my wife and I just welcomed our 10th great-grandchild, Emmie Drew Harrison. Floyd and Trudy Webster are the other great-grandparents. Emmie Drew's mother is McKenzie. McKenzie is the youngest daughter of our youngest daughter, Kimberly.

I finally have everything that I wanted as a teenager - only 60 years later.

I don't have to go to school or work.

I get an allowance every month.

I have my own pad. I don't have a curfew. I have a driver's license and my own car.

I play golf as much as I want!

The people I hang around with are not scared of getting anyone pregnant and I don't have acne.

Life is great.

Old age is coming at a really bad time.

When I was a child I thought "nap time" was a punishment. Now it feels like a small vacation.

The biggest lie I tell myself is... " I don't have to write that down, I'll remember it".

I don't have gray hair.... I don’t have enough to count.

If God wanted me to touch my toes, He would've put ‘em on my knees.

Last year I joined a support group for procrastinators. We haven't met yet.

Why do I have to press one for English when you're just going to transfer me to someone I can't

understand anyway?

Of course, I talk to myself. Sometimes I need expert advice.

At my age "Getting Lucky" means walking into a room and remembering what I went in there for.

I have more friends I should send this to, but right now I can't remember their names.

Now, I'm wondering... did I send this to you, or did you send it to me?

This email was sent to me by a friend. I hope it isn't offensive, controversial, or too political in any way to our classmates. K

I love this, Kay. It is so true. But, you did leave out one thing - ARP (Age Related Pains). lol

I love the world I live in since I stopped following the latest news. Thank you Kay and Cheryl.

Thanks David.  I wonder what Walter Chronkite would think of the news these days? Life is better without TV. But haven't we lived in the best of times?  When I think of the childhood we had, I feel all warm inside. Of course, my Dad used to say the same thing and he grew up during the Great Depression.

Where did you ride Jimmy? I29 Tail of the Dragon?  I see a little fall color in the upper right of the picture.  K

Spent 4 days last week with some riding buddies. At 75, belly is bigger but I can still hang with the young'ns. Still to much of a tightwad to pay for digital. There were 6 of us, the 3 you can see behind me and 2 in front.

Today, while watching Kelly Rippa and Ryan Secrest, I had a belly laugh that keeps on giving whenever I think about it. It made me think of Lyn and Bobby Jackson up in Maggie Valley. A while back Lyn sent us this picture of a bear in their yard - note the car on the left.

Kelly was warning Ryan about camping and leaving food in the car because bears can get in your car and tear it up. Ryan said "They know how to use a fob?"

Kelly said "they can get in but they don’t know how to get out and they tear everything up" – so I guess they close the door behind them when they get in? Then I started imagining the bear trying to use the fob and finding the right button to unlock the door, then the horn starts blowing and all the lights flash on and off, the back door to the SUV flies open. By that time, you’d think the bear would be scared off, but no, he is determined to get in  - and shuts the door behind himself - and tears the place up looking for food, then the park ranger comes along (or Bobby) and opens the door for him.  Well, these days anything that makes you laugh is worth the price – right?

Lyn's bear looks like he knows where that fob is...

Yes Kay, We were in Maggie Valley for 5 days. More crooked roads than you can count. My favorite is still the Cherohala Skyway....long sweeping turns with mile long views. At least you can relax and take your eyes off the road for a peep. As always in MV, plenty of rain and cool temps.

I found this picture on line of the Cherohala Skyway - what a beautiful highway! K

Wow, Kay! That view is breath taking!! C

Sister Carolyn Bennett recently shared on FB a celebration of her 50th Golden Jubilee. Here is a message to classmates:

"A Golden Jubilee is a celebration of 50 years of consecrated life, the life I chose when I made my vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience 50 years ago. Sunday October 3 we had a beautiful celebration at Mass here at the Motherhouse where I along with four other sisters, (three sisters celebrating 60 years and two of us celebrating 50 years), renewed our vows in front of family and friends.  Afterwards we all enjoyed a wonderful dinner. What a beautiful day!"

Thank you, Jimmy. You are on the attached list and I plan to update the slideshow if you have a photo of you in uniform. This morning I saw where some classmates posted photos on FB so this will add to the slide show too.
