Dennis had cut my Fathers hair for as long as I could remember. My dad says Dennis was attending RHHS when he first started cutting his hair and that was 50 or so years ago. One of the times I remember with Dennis was when we were Sophmores and 4 of us took off for 1st week at OD with no reserved rooms. We were in my '61 VW and back then Ocean Drive would be packed for 1st week. So you may guess how that worked out. The 4 of us in a little bug trying to sleep at night. We had a great time, I think!!!
As I would come through RH every 4 or 5 yrs, my Dad would make sure we went together to get a 'style' from Dennis. He would never let me pay and always say "If I tried to charge you, you would just 'Church' me. Put it towards my room rent for that week in OD.

I too have find memories and this really hits home. Even though I have very little hair I would always go by to say hello and talk about old times.
i hope we meet again and maybe then I will have hair so we can reminisce. He will surely be missed!!!!

Dennis, I have often wondered what had become of you. We were close friends back in the elementary school days at Richmond Drive. I used to follow you home on many afternoons after school and sometimes we snuck off the grounds during lunch periods! You only lived a short distance from school. I rememember the times when we would "study" the nearby pretty preacher's daughter! I saw you one last time at your barber shop in downtown Rock Hill and had you give me a shave n a haircut. I remember the last time you and I had seen each other in school that we had had a falling out for some reason or another, so when I saw who had that straight razor next to my throat to give me a shave , I was a lil bit apprehensive! But you gave me great service that day and that was our last reunion. I didn't get it for free! But I know God has you in his waiting area for Heaven now. I am certain the "doctor" will see you in his office very soon. God Bless you and that wonderful family you have created over the years. My Prayers are with them. Ken Hinson
