Does any one  remember Robert[bobby] Hartnet? He was at Auburn at least thru 11th grade. I dont think he graduated though.I think I remember him getting arrested for robbing the old Spattons dept. store on east state st. Am I right about that?And does anyone remember that player on OUR  basketball team[ THAT WAS 7 FT, 2 INCHS TALL ] that went down state and almost won??  

I think the 7'2" basketball player was in the Class of '63...Keith Stelter.  As for "Bobby" Hardnett, yes, I remember hearing something about him going to jail.

That was a long time ago. Our junior or senior year I think. No, it wasn't a department store. Bob was shot during that incident. I heard some years ago (second hand) that Bob was living in Texas and was doing well. I was told he was involved in a social work of some kind. I remember Bob from Wilson Jr. High and Auburn. He was a great athlete and I thought a good guy. Hey, we all made our share of bad choices. I wish Bob Hartnett well. Randy Molander 

Was the basketball player Alonzo Lewis? And wasn't there a Jasper Wilson or is that a name from grade school?

Actually Rodney is right. It was KIETH STELTER and he was a southmore when we were seinors. I still can see him way down the hall , his head far above the rest of us.

Wasn't there a controversy over Jasper's age. The State took away the team's standing that year I think. Dolph cited a family bible for the date of birth but the State didn't buy it. Too bad, we got to the elite 8 that year.  

Bobbie was arrested for extortion in the field by Piggly Wiggly. He went to prison. When I came from Viet Nam and went back to Rock Valley I ran into him there. He and I had part time janitors jobs at WW junior high. Never had contact with him after I went to NIU.

Jasper never went on to college. Last I heard he was working at Sundstrand's.

The player I think was Jasper Robinson. If it wasn't him I beleive we had a player named Alonzo Lewis but, I might be wrong.
