I wasn't friends with Mel in High School and only met him through the Saturday morning breakfast club group that meets at Herb's Tavern on Detroit. We had some very good conversations and I enjoyed his friendship. I was sad to hear about his first stroke and felt encouraged to hear that he was doing better after it. I guess the second stroke wasn't as easy on him and I am now sad to hear of his death. From our conversations and reading his profile he had a happy and fruitful life. I wish all of his family and friends well. Calvin Marousch class of RRHS 1960.

Where do I begin with Mel?  He was one of the kindest, men I have known.  Talk about fun! I have so many great memories with Mel and our friends.  In high school  we would go on group dates, swimming, eating out after activities, you name it, Mel was always ready and brought so many laughs along.  Our prom date was a blast. Thank you  Mel.

Any visits back to River, I could count on Mel to show me the town, the beach, or just visit. Thank you Mel.

And, the last dance at our last reunion.  Mel was so pleased to dance again.  He had me laughing and caring again.  I will miss you Mel.  Thanks for being such a fun and caring part of my life.   I never knew you were adopted, but so is my only granddaughter, Noelle.  No one could be more loved.  Thank you Julie for bringing him to our last reunion.  MY best to you and your family during this difficult time..
