I am sad to announce that my twin brother, Ken is no longer with us. After graduating from Rocky River, he entered Ohio State University where he received his undergrad and master's degrees in education and History. He entered the US Air Force as a 2nd Lt. and retired 22 yrs later as a Major. While in the Air Force he was a C5 Navigator and during the Vietnam war served as a C130 navigator where he flew over 130 combat missions. During his military career he also served as the Professor of Air Science at Ohio University. After retirement, Ken taught ROTC and History at East High School in Columbus Ohio for almost 20 years. Throughout my life he was my hero and I had the honor of serving as his "wingman" until his final wheels-up to paradise. May he rest in peace. Ted (his "older" twin brother)
I am sad to report the recent passing of Ken Freshwater. Our deepest sympathy goes out to his family as well as his twin brother, Ted. Ted wrote a thoughtful obituary which can be read on the In Memory page. I had a ton of good times with the Freshwaters and treasure those memories.
Kent was among my oldest childhood friends. Our houses in Rocky River were back to back. We attended Kensington school together, played in the woods together, rode our bikes togehter, went to the movie theater together, went to Jr. High together, went to High School together, wrestled together, went to Friday night football games together, and went to The Ohio State University together. Great memories of freiendship for sure.

Teddy, I am so sorry for your loss. Your Memorial Notes are so beautifully written. We had so much fun as kids. Kensington Elementary School...remember Miss Case our principal...she even taught my mother at Kensington when my mom was a kid. I was so crazy about you and Kenny...we had some very exciting and eventful adventures throughout the years in Rocky River. I have high hopes of attending our reunion in 2019. I’ll be the fat white haired old lady with a red rose in my teeth. Hugs to you dear Teddy and God’s blessings.
So sorry to hear about Kent's passing. I can relate what to what your going through. Dean will have been gone six years tomorrow, and I think about him often. The Freshwater twins and the Noonan "twins" certainly had some memorable adventures together. Those were some great times that 'll always remember. Take care my friend.
Damn! This really saddens me. Whenever I needed a little "pick-me-up," I simply looked up Ted and/or Kent. Here's a toast to a really great guy and an even better friend. Rocky River meant a lot to me as a boy, and even more as a man - and now that wonderful town has lost one of its nicest guys. In today's lingo, Kent was one cool dude! And...I say that out of respect. Ted...I know how this hurts you. I will light a candle in Kent's memory and for you Ted.
