Scott Little

Email from Sally Little: Hey Jack (Greenleaf). How wonderful you touched base, looking for my big brother, Scott. He died in March 2005 after a long illness. I think was was the oldest longest survivor of AIDS in the country. His doctors called him AIDS poster boy. Bless his heart. It finally beat him and he died a few weeks before his 64th birthday. He had moved here maybe a year before he died, to Charleston, to be close to me, and fell in love with Charleston as I had done, was very happy here. Before that, after graduating from Dartmouth, then Colorado Law School, he practiced law in Phoenix, Arizona, then moved to Boulder and represented the Native American Rights Fund. Eventually he gave up law, didn't much like it, and ended up driving for Denver Transit and thoroughly enjoyed that. He had many many friends, lived a good life, and adored his animals. I miss him terribly, he was my best friend for sixty years, but I wouldn't want him back for all the tea in china if he had to suffer again like he did in the end. He was brave and wonderful and I'm certain he would have loved attending his 50th RRHS reunion! Hope all is well with you. Fondly, Sally Sarah Little

Scott was one of my best friends. We would sit up in his 3rd floor bedroom and listen to "Old Cape Cod" by the Andrews sisters (I think). One time I found out that Westwood Country Club was going to drain a pond on a par three. I was a caddy there. I called Scott and told him. We got our heads together and came up with a plan. I would come over to his folks house at 4AM and we would push their 1954 Chevy stationwagon out of the garage and into the street. I can not believe that we did not wake up the neighborhood because we were laughing so much. Anyway we pushed the car down the street popped the clutch and off we went. We got there, jumped the fence and went through two to three feet of mud to get golf balls. What a mess. Again, we were laughing so hard that the night watchman should have caught us. Anyhow we made quite a hall. Left stinking and laughing with our new muddy balls. Took them home, hosed them off and played golf with them for the rest of the summer. Down at Little Met and Big Met. I will always miss Scott and his great laugh. Pete
