When we moved to Rocky River midway through the sixth grade, Dean went from 7B grade in Cleveland to sixth grade at Kensington. Not to sure if he was crazy about being in the same grade as his younger brother, but I was thrilled. Some of our fellow students thought, two brothers, same grade, must be twins. So there was the Freshwater twins and the Noonan twins. Dean and I did everything together. We tortured our 7-8 year younger brother Ralph together, snuck out the family car at 14-15 together, water skiied together, and just enjoyed each others company. Our Dad took George Adams, Sonny Gray, Scott Little, Kerwin Purdum, Jim Kelly ( I'm forgetting somebody, sorry) to Kelleys Island in the Spring of our Junior year and we had an absolute blast. When I moved to Boston in 1967 our time together was mostly twice a year but when we got together we made up for lost time, much to the chagrin of our wives. Ralph was even allowed into the Brotherthood of Brothers on these occasions. I could go on and on, bottom line, Dean was the best older brother anyone could ever hope for and I miss him dearly.
