I am saddened by this news. I remember walking to & from school with Pierce sometimes. She was solid, gentle, and kind. She had more memories than I do about our escapades, as she shared with me when we connected through this site awhile back. I regret that we didn't stay in touch; I'm sure she had wisdom & life-lessons to share. I'm so sorry for her close friends and family to have lost such a special lady through cancer. It sounds like she lived well and has left a legacy.

Kelli, did you and I practice cheerleading jumps from my front steps? I think you made it onto the team, but I did not... I still remember your long legs and fun-loving personality! Am I on target with this? I think it may have been junior high...or early high school?

Where did you live in AR? I am there frequently. I would love to see a recent pic of you! Congratulations for finishing college at 36! That's about the time I started, seriously... and until recently, I was still accumulating credits in a variety of interests. Currently, re-learning Spanish and attending a Spanish church. What is your passion and what do you enjoy?

You are more beautiful than ever, Linda! What a glorious testimony of a life well lived. So amazing to have connected with my dear friend from 50+ years ago. Wow!
Wow, Peggy, you've had some great adventures and now so much experience and education! You lived in Tulsa during the time I was here! Where did you live? I also spent 3 years living in Santa Fe, and it was from there that we moved to Tulsa, which was a hard move, since Santa Fe is so lovely and interesting--and I had wonderful friends. I came here to go to ORU in my mid-30s. It's become home, but I miss the high desert and mountains out west... also lived in northern AZ. Antarctica sounds enticing!

Wow, I could say this brings back memories, but it is very weird that there are very few. My senior picture looks bizarre, but then I was a really lost soul back then. In fact, I didn't even graduate with my class because I refused to put on a swimsuit and use the new pool. Janet Darvas shared some memories, but I admit I can't remember much of my high school years. I started drinking in my young teens, and by the time I was a senior, I was on my way to serious alcoholism. Maybe the pot smoking started that year as well. Life continued to spin out of control after I moved to Chicago, Bahamas, New York, etc. Although I became successful as an international model in Europe and New York, the alcohol and crazy life almost killed me. I ran, ran, ran from myself and the jet-set life and lived in Mexico for a year, trying to not drink. When my money ran out, I landed in L.A. where the drinking became more extreme. At age 26, I had my last drink of my life--thanks to AA. My story continued to get really bizarre, but I gave my life to Jesus Christ a few years later and eventually, after some more crazy twists and turns, my life purpose began to become clear. If I had not allowed God to intervene in my life, I know I would be dead today. I could write a book, but nobody would believe it! I look down the list of names of my classmates, and so many I do not really remember. Maybe few people actually remember me, but after what I am saying here, y'all may be thinking "Who is this strange lady with the weird hair-do?" That really WAS a weird hair-do and a menacing expression! I am kind of embarrassed about that, but oh well. Youth is a time of sorting things out and learning to live! Thank God, I managed to do some of that... and still am! God bless you all.
