Stanley Thomas (Tommy) Kirby, Jr., age 45, of Cedar Park died Wednesday, January 25, at an Austin hospital. Services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 28, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple with Ed Wilks officiating. Burial will follow at Moffat Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 – 8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Kirby was born September 5, 1960 in Temple to Stanley Thomas Kirby, Sr. and La Rita Wilks. He was a graduate of Rogers High School, class of '79 where he was on the track team. He was employed as a construction foreman for Emerson Construction of Temple. He had been in construction all of his adult life.
Mr. Kirby was a member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Thomas Kirby, Sr. and his stepfather Joe G. Macek. He was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather to his family that loved him so dearly. Till we meet and shall never part.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Ward, his mother, La Rita Wilks Cartwright and stepfather, Tommy Cartwright of Troy, daughters, Jessica Kirby of Temple, Jennifer Allen of Austin, JoAnn Allen of Georgetown and Mary Ward of Cedar Park, son, Jeffrey Kirby of Temple. Sisters, Melissa Everett of Belton, Elisabeth Kirby of California, brothers, Jerry Macek of Abilene and Al Kirby of Kentucky. Four grandchildren, Anna Tanguma of Cedar Park, Gerald and Jeremy Bird of Georgetown and Emma Ward of Cedar Park.
