20 Year Reunion

Dear Class of 1989,
The time has come for our 20 year class reunion! It is almost unbelievable that we have been out of high school for 20 years. The annual Rogers Homecoming football game will take place on Friday, October 9th at 7:30 p.m. against the Jarrell Cougars. The class of 1989 will be recognized during this game, there will also be a reserved place in the stands for our class to enjoy the game together, and we hope that all of you will be able to be there that night. If you would like to eat before the game, the East Bell Youth Boosters will be having their annual sausage supper that night at the Carol Ann Bonds Multipurpose Building located across from the football field, this will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The festivities will continue on Saturday, October 10th. There will be an 800-Meter Fun Run and a Master’s Mile Run at 9:00 a.m. There will also be parade in Rogers at 10:00 a.m. The Homecoming committee has asked us to have a float in the parade since we are one of the classes being honored. (Classes of 48, 49, 58, 59, 68, 69, 78, 79, 88, 89, 98, and 99 are being honored). If anyone is interested, please contact Misti Gotcher Jecmenek and we can make it happen. For those of you who have not been back to Rogers in the last 20 years, there have been some changes, they have built a new elementary school and it will be open for tours starting at 11:00. Michna’s B-B-Q of Waco will be catering a meal from 11:45 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., advance tickets are $8. Hopefully everyone can remember where Ms. Marsh’s room was, (yes she is still there!) it has been reserved for us and our families at 1:00pm to meet and just hang out and catch up. If you have any pictures or memorabilia (uniforms, football jerseys, letter jackets, etc.) please bring them and feel free to model them as well!! There will also be a "Rogers' Got Talent" variety show at 2:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.
Our plans are to continue our reunion on Saturday evening with a meal and dance at Oscar Store. We will meet there at 5:30pm to eat on the patio (this will be at everyone’s own expense). There will be a live band (The Outlaws), however there is an $8.00 cover charge per person. We hope that everyone will be able to stay and party the night away!!
We realize that everyone has really busy lives; we are hoping that by having several chances to get together that everyone can fit parts of our reunion into their schedule.
