RAYMOND'S OBITUARY

Raymond B. Graham was born September 10, 1954, in

Eugene, OR and passed away January 18, 2022, in

Winston, OR. He was the son of the late Raymond Burl

Graham and the late Mary Margueritte Ball Graham. Ray

was raised in Roseburg and graduated from Roseburg

High in 1973. Ray and his sister Sharon spent many

summers during their childhood at their grandparent’s

ranch in Riddle, OR. After graduation he move to Bend,

OR, attended Community College majoring in having fun

and snow skiing, between classes and then worked as a

carpenter for a number of years, building hand hewn log

homes all over Oregon and Washington. During this time,

he started racing sled dogs and at one time had almost 2

dozen. He loved animals and had cats, dogs, horses and

cows. Fond memories too of riding Jesse the donkey at

his grandparents’ house in Riddle. While in Sisters he

started a truck driving career that would span over 30

years. His long-haul experience took him to all the lower

48 states, with his companions, “CB” and later Missy

Varmint, his collie mix who he said was raised by coyotes

who taught her how to cuss. Ray dearly loved his family,

especially his mother who raised he and Sharon alone

and taught him about grit, fortitude and honesty. He was

loud, opinionated, had an unswerving sense of justice for

those who were downtrodden and was utterly devoted to

his friends. He would give more than his last dime!! Ray

loved cars, especially middle 70’s Ford trucks and his

Black Mustang. Always a car project with his good friend

Lonnie Noblin. Ray was predeceased by his half-sister
