This was the obituary posted in the Lafayette Journal & Courier. I know that our class is sad to lose another member at such a young age. ~ Brian

Rusty Thorp (cousin) & Kevin Fingerle (friend) did an incredible job of pulling together memorials. A memory garden stone was presented to the family along with a maple tree that will placed at the Ag Building at RHS. The funeral viewing was an incredible reunion of its own. I know Ric would never have imagined the gathering of old friends and classmates that shared memories, hugs and many tears as we ran into each other outside of the Presbyterian Church - right next to the Roth property which has been transformed into part of Rossville Establishments. Ric's family expressed a joyful gratitude and peace in sharing his Celebration of Life which included many pictures from the Indianapolois 500, goodtimes with his nephews, and his dog-eared, handworn Bible with his passages of strength and endurance that guided him through his hard fought battle.
Ric ~ your race might be run, but your place can never be lost. ~ God's Speed. ~ Melissa
