
Karen Pickell

EAST ALTON — Karen Ann Pickell, 64, was welcomed into the loving hands of the Lord Saturday, July 16, 2016, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Born September 1, 1951, in Wood River, she was a daughter of Robert and Esther (Jacober) Williams.
She married Michael Pickell May 6, 1994, in East Alton. He survives.
Karen loved traveling with her beloved husband, going to the movies, watching a Cardinals game, or playing cards. She worked for 30 years at Thrifty Drug, and later at Olin Credit Union and Albrecht-Hamlin Chevrolet.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two stepdaughters, Amy (Dan) Maddox of Glen Carbon and Melissa Ray of Jerseyville; a stepson, Chris (Kelly) Pickell of Cottage Hills; four grandchildren, Brendan, Evan, Ayden and Carter; a sister, Rebecca (Don) Fischer of Florissant, Missouri; a nephew, Donnie (Allison) Fischer; nieces, Jen (Chris) Masterson and Beth (Andrew) Wojciechowski; great nieces and a great nephew Drew, Emma, Caroline and Hannah; and other close family and friends, especially Charla, Becky and Bob.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, at Paynic Home for Funerals. A Catholic Mass will be celebrated by Father Steve Robeson at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, at St. Rose Philippine Duschesne Catholic Church in Florissant, Missouri.
