Another year goes by and here we are in 2019. We thank the Lord for all we have and the things we can do. Well this past year we had the honor of having Janet Flick Stickel with us. Thank you for all you do with the golf outings and everything else you give your time with.

What I'm trying to say is

Saw this quote recently:

"There is always, always, always something to be thankful for."

Amen.

Arlene ... there is always always always something/someone to pray for ... you and your family are in mine ... as we used to say in high school ... “knockers up old bean” ... God loves you ... blush

... and happy birthday to everybody I know that has ever been born ... the wonderful commandery that our class has established in the past few years is worth more than any of us deserves ... wink

Happy birthday, Janet - I appreciate all that you do for our class.  You're one of the linch pins for us.  Hope your birthday is all you want it to be and that a month from now you'll still be looking back at today with a smile on your face and in your heart.  You are a wonderful partner, too.  Looking forward to seeing you and the ususal suspects in just three weeks.

Happy birthday to Anne Cliggett, too, wherever you are, a lady with a wonderfully warm heart.

Thanks to our terrific golf committee for the well conceived, stress free outing you put together.

Merry unbirthday to the rest of us.

My apologies for misspelling Mary Ann’s name in the birthday wishes!  I hope you have a wonderful day!  Also, thank you Lorrie for your prayers.  Much needed!

... I don’t think “commandery” is a word ... I actually thought I said commaradery (sp? ) ... must have been the wine talking ... (and some days, I just need it to shut up wink

Happy birthday, Larry Dupke.  You were a terrific coach, but as a golf event coordinator, you take the cake.  Thanks for your insight and efforts making our reunion golf outing so pleasant.

Ah ... the Duke of Berkeley ... one of my very best most favorite persons ever ... with you sitting behind me in Latin class, I looked pretty good ... thanx Toots wink

Happy birthday, Judy Shields, one of the first people to welcome me to Shrine, I think that it was Latin class.  I always appreciated your sense of humor and warm smiles.  Has Charlotte gotten to big for you?  It seems that the city fathers didn't plan for much more than 1 million and certainly not four million and growing.  I hope that all is well with you and those you hold dear.

Happy Birthday, Kathy Poeppe.  Here's wishing you the company of loved ones and some "peace and quiet" for your soul.  Unless of course the grandkids help you celebrate, or do you have great grand children by now?

Sorry to miss the reunion golf outing next week, guys.  But Wally and I will be celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversary (which was actually July 14), renewing our vows after Mass and dinner with family and members of our wedding. I'm sure you all will have some good laughs at the outing.

Gayle

So here is a funny story!

Normally my least favorite techno assault is AUTOCORRECT! Right? Craziest stuff goes out into the world confusing the receiver.

So then this happened. I was typing up a blast email hoping to persuade a few few more oldies but goodies to be withh us on the 24th and letting them know that I would put them in touch with Chris Frye or Larry Dupke. When I typed Dupke auto gave me these choices - in this order Duke (yep, ok Duke of Berkley, Dupe, ok he is good at duping me with outlandish remarks, gets me every time, and Duple. That last one flabergasted me, haven’t had the nerve to google it, afraid of how it might apply to our beloved classmate.

Cheers, and hope to see you Saturday.
