A Happy Birthday to the President. Wishes for a joyous day with the family or just you and your wife.

Be sure the cake and ice cream are at the ready and chow down.

Hope's for many more to come/

Congratulations on being even more experienced. I’m not sure what you learned this year, but every experience transforms us into the people we are today. Happy birthday!”

Happy all the birthdays I've missed , every once in awhile I can get on this forum which provides much entertainment and my senior year is all I remember about high school. It didn't seem like coming of age and yet looking back  I barely recall the first 3 years at Glenbard West.  I did chat with Lucia a couple weeks ago and exchange emails with with Mike Young because he's a good sport and I doubt I can offend him!  Anyway , you men with the recent heart scares....I guess the medical world has come a long way which is good rather than rushing in with bypass surgery. Today there is more testing to search other possiblities.

Since St Patrick's Day has come and gone....for years I'd been told I was French and German, like my parents, right? Being adopted,  it was given .   I was always jealous about StPatricks Day and not fully celebrating...a couple years ago I did the 23&me DNA swab and voila!  I come back 💯 % Irish, so all those years in Chicago and Detroit celebrating !  At least St Louis is quite Green, too.  Now I can say SCHOEN is Irish ☘️ now .  Right now I'm dealing with a lot of tornado damage from April 1st , yes April fools day 70 mile clocked went thru the subdivision as I watched it come across the lake but I did run downstairs and I'm dealing with insurance and contractors lost alot of siding, all my patio landscaping and glass table chairs and a large gas grill all airborn and slammed into the street but no one hurt and only thought this happened in Kansas !

Oh and not bragging of course,  but my family is now up to 27 !  And  the yougest,  Brennan had their first, Benson Parker last July so I have a grandchild who is younger than my great grandchildren!  And now a word from our sponsor....,

Dave,

Happy Birthday. Your probably in the air so stay safe on your flight.

See you and Barbara in a couple days and we will celebrate both your birthdays.

I know you'll get some cake and ice cream.

Judy,

I can only imagine how you feel after the exciting time you had. Just glad no injuries and sounds like you made it thru in one piece.

I got tired just hearing about your adventure.

Glad all is well

Judy, our fine Irish lassie, we're glad and grateful that you are well and safe.  All the rest of that stuff can be replaced, at a cost of course.  But you can not be replaced, Judy.  At any cost.  Just ask any of your grandchildren.

There are a very few times when mere words feel inadequate.  I felt that when trying to express my gratitude to Sue, Mary, Lou, Kathy, Chris and Rick at my sister's funeral.  Hearing about your near miss, Judy, is another one.

Happy Birthday, Jim.  I hope that your days are full of laughter and love - all of 'em, not just your birthday.  The same for all y'all.  (I think that's the proper plural for "y'all".)  Jim, you were an inspiration, I'm glad that our paths crossed.

Dave, I hope that your travels are safe and comfortable, you will have a lively host, maybe even a couple of them.

Planning meals is food forethought.

Happy Birthday Marieda, I hope your day is as ebullient and effervescent as you are.  Unless that's an overdose - then a day as pleasant as you are.  Any and/or all of the above.  I hope to see you and Lewis this August enhancing our annual gathering.

A Happy Birthday to Mary Jo, always the easy listener.  May your day be all you wish it to be (and pehaps a little more).  I'd like to thank you, Janet and Lucia (and whomever else pitched in and pushed) for getting us started on our annual gatherings - they are terrific days.  I hope to see you and Bill this August.

Marieda and Mary Jo.

Spring has sprung and so have your Birthdays. As spring brings longer and brighter days so have both your Birthdays.

Stay healthy, Strong and as sweet as you have been.

Also enjoy your cake and ice cream and many more birthdays to come.

Forget about the past, you can’t change it. Forget about the future, you can’t predict it. And forget about the present, I didn’t get you one. Happy birthday

A Merry Unbirthday to our Curling Queen, Mary Lou.  I hope your birthday was as warm and zealous as you are.  I hope the rest of your year is everything that you'd like it to be.  Additionally, we hope to see you at our annual gathering this August.  I haven't forgotten you delicate touch with your putter - you did drop in 4 birdie putts to spur us on.

Happy Birthday to Mary Lou.

The girl at Shrine I always thought something was up. No one could always be as happy as Mary Lou was every day. Now I know why she was always happy. She was counting the days to leave.

I hope your day is filled with love and more happiness. Not to mention cake and ice cream.

Enjoy your day and years to come.

Happy birthday to one of the few people whose birthday I can remember without a Facebook reminder.

I received sad news today that Chris Frye passed away yesterday afternoon, May 17,2024.  Chris has had debilitating cardiac issues for some time and has been in and out of the hospital.  He passed away peacefully while taking a nap.  He has been staying with his sister Therese in Royal Oak.

Chris' funeral is being handled by Sullivans.  Per his wishes, there will simply be a funeral Mass at Guardian Angels in Clawson where Chris has been a long time parishoner. There probably will not be a viewing.

I will let you know when more information becomes available.

Chris will be greatly missed as he has been the core of our reunions and the 10 years of golf outings.  I've texted with him recently and he always closes with, "I love the Shrine Class of '63."

You can check for Chris' obituary and funeral information when it becomes available on the Sullivan Funeral Home website:

Chris Frye at our 60th reunion.     He is "center stage" - second row in turquoise shirt next to Mary Jo VanderPlas and Pat Diggles.

Rest in Peace.

Janet, thanks for passing on the news about Chris, sad though it is.  Chris knew everyone and vice-versa.  Chris had a manner that was personal with each of us.  When he asked "how are you doing?" it was a question, not merely a form of greeting.  We were blessed to have Chris in our class.  Chris probably just birdied the first hole on the Gates of Heaven Country Club.

Chris Frye's obituary is posted on the Sullivan Funeral Home website.

https://www.sullivanfuneraldirectors.com

A Memorial Mass to celebrate Chris' life will be held on Wednesday, May 29th.

Visitation begins at 11:30am followed by the Mass at 12:30pm at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Clawson

Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society, Guardian Angels Conference.

Rest in Peace, Chris.

I haven't seen Chris since school but have thought of him many times.

It was a shock to hear of his passing and I'm sure like everyone has said, his days will now be making new friends in the big social area.

My thoughts and prayers for you Chris and say hi to all the Shrine members.

Chris was always so full of life and welcoming to everyone at our reunions.  He will be missed.  Prayers go out to his family.  Val worked for years at the hospital with his sister and has reached out to her with condolences.  Thank you God for the time we had with Chris.

I'll never forget that smile ... it suggested life, love, and lust ... you had to look into his eyes to differentiate ... Requiem Eternam Chris !  🥰🙏🏻

Happy Birthday, Mary Blanche!   Celebrate it just the way you want , after all it is your day!

Lorrie, your comment about his eyes triggered something in my memories of Chris.  (No, not the "lust" part - I never saw that.)  We didn't always see that Chris was "up to something" in his eyes, but there was the idea that if you came up with an intriguing suggestion that he'd be happy to run with you - all in.  Additionally, Chris rarely wasn't enthusiastic - he was committed to whatever he was doing.  Any time you had a conversation with Chris - you had his attention.

This reminds me to take the opportunity to tell those whom I love, that I love them.  The opportunity mat not be there later.

Happy Birthday to Pam,

Wises for a happy and great day and up-coming year.

May the days be long and happy with family and friends.

Keep smiling and may the valley be warm this year.

Birthdays are nature's way of telling us to eat more cake

The happiest of birthdays, Pam. I'm glad that our paths crossed when they did and in the ways that they did.  You were a significant and very positive part of my life at Shrine and I am still grateful.  I hope your day and year are full of love, stimulation and satisfaction.  (Cake being an option)
