Keith Vilhauer

After High School, I attended Western Technical College in Denver, CO for a year.
Entered the USAF in March 1969 and served for 4 years, one in Viet Nam. Married Doris Lochmiller of Othello, WA in July 1972. Moved to Denver in March 1973 after completing my USAF service. Attended Metropolitan State University of Denver, graduating in August 1976 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.
Moved to Spokane, WA after graduation, and was hired, as a biologist, by Hollister-Stier Laboratories in January 1977. Retired after 38 years with the same firm (Which changed company names and ownership several times) in February 2015. My wife and I have enjoyed traveling around the US-mostly to NY; where our only grandchildren, and their parents live.

One of my favorite high school memories is from the time we (Thespians) did the play 'The Mouse That Roared.' In the play, the queen of the little country involved, was supposed to be eating a pomegranate. Some of us involved in the play (Joe Velasquez for one) went out to some local grocery stores, looking for a pomegranate. We never found a pomegranate, but sure had a lot of fun looking for one.
Another favorite memory is of the competition we had during Homecoming, our Junior year. It was Seniors and Freshmen against Juniors and Sophomores-to see who could gather the most wood to burn the Burley Bobcat. It got totally out of hand, and we ended up with mountains of wood.
